Mojo and Crystals

For getting bonus maps and ammo from mojo, is it better to throw them as I collect them or save them up to a certain amount? And also what is the best method to get crystals, because I can only buy them with pearls.

 

I like to save them up. then throw say 50 and use the jokers that I accrue after that. I like to redeem them after I have gathered 100 or so. That is how I roll, it hasn't done that much for me however... I have a lot of level 4 armor and stuff like that.

I save up to about 1700 mojo (over the course of 2 weeks)..then use them in the cauldron to get map pieces and especially the 200 powder monkeys. This "technique" allows me to basically get the 200 class4 powder monkeys for free - yes, saving 20K pearls a month for powder monkeys also adds up over the time - in one year that's 240K pearls saved - a lot of pearls for a f2p player

As for the crystals imho there is no other way to get them than to buy them with the pearls gained from shinies (eventually one will also find 1 crystal in a shiny), scrolls, and or from shooting admirals with hollows - and most important with the pearls not spend by using the mojo to get the powder monkeys.

 

Further to the above suggestions, you also get a higher return of voodoo deck if you throw 100 mojo in cauldron-I do anyhow

Plus you should maybe save some pearls to buy chest keys, i try and buy at least 10 a day.You can get between 2 to 6 crystals from a chest,depending on whether you have skills in gifts of the sea.Obviously,the more chests you open the better chance,plus you get free premium now and then to boot.

 

I tend to save up my mojo until i get tempted and use it.. sometimes thats save up 500.. sometimes i save up 5k..

One of my guild members had a good strategy where he had a good 6-7k and would also use them till he had 200 powder monkeys, then save them until his monkeys ran out..

Crystals, ive been ranting about this for some time.. there needs to be more ways, but my thoughts have not been took up.. as per usual.
Only real way, is buying them.. you are never gonna get a decent amount from shiny hunting/hitting npcs etc. Event chests tend to give quite a few though.. but its based on luck and you can't really farm when lucks 'involved'

Also onto phantoms, i prefer buying 500 event keys, then waiting for the exchange = 250k pearls saved.. can get quite a few crystals from um.. plenty of ammo aswell.

 

I tend to save mojos up to about 25 or 50, then throw them. On occasion I will throw them individually. There isn't much difference throwing them individually or in groups. Its all a matter of preference.

 

How can you save so many mojo though? I can barely make like 50 from shiny hunting for an hour. I always get gold, hp and ep!

 

Doing bonus maps, shiny hunting and being patient and some events are super good for mojos.

 

Certain events give crystals as rewards for sinking the various event NPCs here is an example from the current championship event ( it may not be much but i have managed to upgrade all ten decks to max with them) :

80% of shinies are either HP, EP and/or gold. but if you purchase the doubler advantage pack and set your skills into legba's passageway, you can pick up 5-6 mojos per shiny and around 600 pearls on one shiny, of course you will still have to put the effort in, but you will end up with 150 mojos instead of 50

 

Can do 100-200 mojo and 10-15k pearls an hr

 

in 5-6 hours i can only do 200 mojo and 6k pearls , that was my best record

I have both m8 also what maps are you shinny hunting in i run from 2 -15. Also speed is the key

 

Yeap I'm trying to make my ship faster, a friend also told me to work on my speed castles.

 

speed is the key for gathering glitter as you can move faster around maps, the quicker you collect the more likely you are to get the right stuff from mojos to do the other things you get from mojos - scrolls, armour, harping etc. the whole ethos takes time and game, for me isn't just about getting cannons and levels asap; it is for some - happy gathering & GL

 

i just tried it and with skills in legbas i managed to get 2.5k pearls and 30 mojos in 15 mins of shynie huntin

 

Speed is the key. Upgrade sternpost and centerboard for high speed. Skills and speed gem help a lot too.

Once you become lvl 16, you won't believe the amount of pearls you get. I had 1.7 million pearls when castle discount started and then I spent 1.2 millions. Now:
