I don't remember being this slow.

I just returned to the game. I have all points in the skills and the castles for speed. I also have the sail. Maybe it's just me. I just feel slower than I used to. What am I missing?

If you look in your ship overview, you can see your speed on the seachart. What number is it showing?

You need to put sails on probably, that's pretty slow. Check sails in the ship over view or maybe the type of sails. if you have sails on you might just try to de-activate and re-activate castles and sails. In other parts of the game usually just with pet that can help.

I got it to 719.

 

Still shouldn't be that low.. I'm 633 without any castles or skills in speed.

 

I don't know. I have the castles, skills, sails. What am I missing? Are you using some new skin i don't know about?

 

Actually I do have a +49 Speed gem on my skin from the Telemachus Skin which is in the black market right now, besides that my speed should be 584 using elite sails. +65 Speed from the skills ontop of the 584 should be 649. If you have a Centerboard, it should be 719 - which is your current speed, however you should have another 80 speed if you have the Sternpost - leaving you with a total of 799. You should have 799 if you have both castles. I think that you might have the Centerboard only and not the Sternpost.

 

Thats it. I don't have the Centerboard. With it I should have 789. I'll look into the gems. I don't know much about them. Or the souls.

 

Yeah. With the Centerboard, I believe that you should have a speed of 799. Basically, in the Black Market
the Telemachus skin is available for Cursed Souls and Radiant Souls, which you could earn from the Calypso event that ended 2 days ago. If you really want the skin you could buy souls for real money...

 

There is really no point in me getting that skin. I'm basically restricted to the lower maps because i'm guildless anyway. I'm just now kinda getting back into it. My boat was pretty strong back in the day. Most likely not so much now.

beams lost their speed points another reason you might feel like your ship is slower if you haven't been playing for a long while

 

Mate, beams have never effected speed. They have always been a hitpoint-only modifier

 

Not true, beams used to make your ship move faster... A long while ago...

 

That was for when you were on 0 HP back when that was possible, they didn't effect speed otherwise. At least that's how I remember it.
