The speed of my ship appears to be slowing down considerably. It was +615 and now it is +284. What is the problem, and how can I get it back up?

    Ahoy,

Your Ship's Speed can change for a number of reasons, one of the most common would be your Ship State. When you are in the Damaged (25% - 50% Hitpoints) or Burning (0% - 25% Hitpoints) state, many various Speed bonuses no longer take effect.

To view the Maximum Speed and everything which contributes to your Ship Speed in different states please view the
    Maximum Values thread.

There are also possible debuffs which could be applied to your ship which would lower your speed, for example the Akkorospawn lowers your speed by 50%, the Plague lowers your speed by 15% and Elmosfire lowers you speed by 30%, all for a period of time.

If you have reviewed your ship, made sure you still have the same items equipped on each preset and you are fully repaired, please leave your Server and User ID so that this can be looked into for you.

    Has this resolved your query?

  7. Riverhawk, your boat has recently been reviewed. Your current speed is now at +539. You did not have any sails on your boat.
The speed you posted (284) was the number of your crew slots. (Which are currently at 295.) Your actual speed was +425.

Remember, if you do not have a Sailmaker, you will have to re-purchase sails every time you are sunk.

    Has this answered your query?
