I have managed to reach level 21 and am having an expensive nightmarish time. I have to harpoon to pass my quest. Most of the monsters take around 30 or more harpoons that's with the 500 built up to 585. It used to be in this game that if you got sunk that no one could take your monster. It would be there when you went back. If they did, you got the credit for it. Now they sink you, most of the time when you have almost taken the monster. Does anyone have any advise for me? I don't really care about the wasted time. Its loosing around 25tom30 harpoons , which is very frequent. and harpoons are not that easy to come by even with the maps when they are wasted in that way. Thankyou 14/42464846

Not that we agree with the behavior, it is a pirate game and they were known for being ruthless. Unfortunately the only advise we have is to carry on and try and build your ship as quickly as you can.

to help with this it would be useful to build a harpoon mode. for example I have a harpoon preset made. for this I have the aftercastle slots for harpoon damage and harpoon reload time at level 8, in the skills, I maxed out the harpoon reload and damage in the economy sheet. I also set a specific ship design for it that has a harpoon damage gem on it. while this doesn't win me many pvp battles, having all these I can hit up to and over 1300 per harpoon with a reload time of around 1 second.

It's also helpful to have the harpoon based steel chains to further increase damage and reduction in reload time. but not necessary as all the previous stuff will drastically reduce not only the time it takes to kill a monster, but the amount of harpoons you need to kill one also.

    hope this helps :)

Try asking guild members to help! people forget yes this is a pirate game but how often did a ship only have a captain and not a team surrounding them? Im assuming if enemies can now take your monsters(this I didn't know about) then it means guild members can help you damage it and aslong as you get the final shot it should count.

Aslong as you help your guild members with their quests aswell it is definitely not an unreasonable request. Big ships have lots and lots of 500 harpoons from years of grinding the maps so its not a big expense, if you get a couple of big players to help you, and they can fend of any ships that try to attack you.

  8. I can't tell you how many times I was trying to test and some guy would start chaining me. It is very frustrating. I understand your feelings. When I was at lower levels, it was at a time when there were not so many events...and it was always stupid to try to test during an event. Now, there are so many events that this does not really make a difference.. Here are my suggestions...some already pointed out. Get guild members to help you when you are doing monster quests. Get your ship set for harpoons...most damage, harpoon speed, ,etc. Try to do these test requirements when fewer players are around...you can try to pay attention to these times...they do exist. Try to get some damask harpoons. I can hit around 3500 with these with my harpoon ship.
