I had my Light of Tortuga popped twice tonight by enemy ships, one who sunk me. (The other ship missed me due to my teleporting. When I reached my teleported map destination, my Light was simply "gone".). BUT my Logbook did NOT show they deployed any kind of mine or bomb. In both cases, neither boat crossed or touched near me, nor did an NPC come shoot me while my Light was active. And my Lights were NOT expired. In fact, both lights had only had been active in both cases for less than 5 minutes. How can this be done legally?

    Ahoy The*Defiant!

Your Light of Tortuga can be deactivated only if:

    - Your fellow pirate sail into your "light zone"
    - Your fellow pirate use a voodoo bomb or voodoo mine next to you
    - You shot an npc / monster
    - Time of your light ended
    - You've been shot, managed to take a light and DoT damage was activated
    - You shot an NPC, moved away and activated LoT when the npc was still on your "Attacker" list

I have activated couple of LoT but nothing happened - my light was working fine.

    Ahoy Rafdebelg2!

Aura of Protection can be deactivated only by you.

No other player have an option to deactivate it.

None of those things occurred, and your list looks both thorough and accurate. (I can't see it being a "glitch", since it happened to me twice in the same day). So my conclusion is they used a "cheat". That's the only other answer left. And not beyond logic. (I would forward this and let the Developers check - something isn't right - and it didn't happen every time I used a light. Your trial method was limited to two lights). Thank you Rymar for your help!

bots use a program a program that auto targets and pops light also said players can use this program when they decide to actually play.. this program does more than just sail a ship and shoot npcs/players from what i have been told it auto uses items and targets and fires etc the player just needs to sail the ship or not . these players need a perm ban mayb have a three strike rule and 3rd strike your out.. banned.. gone!.

I did accidentally pop my aura (twice) while shooting an Event ship. I locked on to a player by accident. If that is the case, the solution is to use your "zoom bar" and zoom in on the target to be sure you lock only on it. Otherwise, I don't know either.

I totally agree. I am certain in my mind that many players sail on "autopilot" while off buying groceries, etc., and then log in and retake manual control. I've seen it too many times. And agree 100% on the "auto-target". Otherwise, how can anyone explain my using a pumpkin power to go full speed at a player and HE starts shooting ME BEFORE I do him?? Thanks mate! Excellent points!:)

Okay - I would like an answer or theory on this. Here is what happened today: I'm in Safe Haven under Map 45-1. I see a guy who likes to sink me. But he goes out of my range of sight. But I was somewhat near him earlier, so I don't know if he locked on me while in SH. I went to the edge, crossed over into the water, and immediately activated a Light of Tortuga. As I sail off, he suddenly shows up and shoots me and sinks me. How? Any ideas? (Entries are straight from my Logbook - no mine or bomb was used. The events are exactly as you read them below). I don't believe this player cheated. But how did this happen?

2022-11-25 11:09:00 You were sunk by XXXXXXXXXXXX.
2022-11-25 11:08:47 1x Light of Tortuga was/were removed. Reason: Used.

    Ahoy Pirates!

I can assure you that such program (to break your lights) simply do not exist - that's not possible.

The only way to lose your light has been mentioned in my previous post.
