if i am put on one side and start getting attacked by npcs without shooting them is there a way top reverse this? even with damage prevention they hit too hard and its not fun anymore

 

On the Eruption of Chaos minigame. <-- The Event description has me confused. If I am an Ice ship, do I sink the Ice NPCs or the Fire NPCs? Is it better for me to sink opponents...or shoot NPCs? If I am an Ice ship, do I shoot the Volcano only when it is on Fire? Thank you in advance for any clarification you can lend.

 

I also have no idea. I generally avoid the group maps for that very reason. You read the description and when you get into it you find that nothing is like what you thought and you're sunk before you can figure it out. I'm now at the quest where I need to go into this or decide that I'm done with the quests. I already abandoned the PVP quests as I have no interest in the domination map.

Nalash doesn't offer me the second phase quests. Did I have to finish the entire first phase to get any of the second phase?

 

I think so, mate. I am on the last quest of Quest Line 1, and still trying to get 28,000 Reputation Points. (I thought I had a lot already, until I saw the Quest requirement).

I thought, what the heck, I'll go in, what's the worst that can happen? It said the average wait time was just over a minute, so I figured I could wait that long... but every time the people in the queue changed, the counter restarted, so after 10+ minutes the timer never went past about 1:30 min before it restarted. I never did get in as even when we had all 5, the other team must not have had 5 as it never started. Eventually it logged me out (I'm not staring at the screen while I wait in a queue).

Speaking of things I'm waiting for... I got to the first phase quest where I need the Broken Flask fairly early in the event. I've shot at at least a dozen (maybe 20) Icy Hands and still haven't got it. It's hard to get most damage and last shot in order to get it. <-- I have only ever got the skulls for the daily quest when I've soloed the ships, so I'm making an assumption

 

I had the same problem on the Broken Flask. It took me about 3 days and I finally got the sink (last shot), which I *think* awarded me the flask. I am like you in that I rarely do the Group Maps. So the Chaos Map had me baffled. I read the FAQs multiple times, and still am not sure what I am supposed to shoot. It makes me feel bad to go into a Group Map and not do my part.

As to the FAQs confusion: I have read where the stance of BP on many things is to *not* tell us, and let us "have the joy of discovery" in finding out the answers. I understand that to an extent, but it really cripples players to be left "in the dark" on certain things. And it can be very frustrating.

P.S. I have played the Chaos Map now like 6 times today. Despite my being Battle Point Rank 36, I got smoked. One player hit me 500k+ criticals...how?? (I won't comment, but I know how he can do that, and it ain't legal). It's tough to win the map one time! One 5-player group had the strongest players in that guild as the group. If you play solo like I do, you might as well give up! (And the lag I experienced was really bad, making it all the less enjoyable).

 

Thanks for that info. For the quest it says to finish the map, not win the map, so I may still go in for that. About how long does it take to finish? And after playing it, do you at least know if you hit your own faction, ie if you get an ice ship do you want the volcano to be ice and shoot the ice rocks or if you are ice do you shoot the fire rocks (like the event works)? And what ammo?

 

I don't have the answers to most of those questions, but I do have the same questions! I can answer that it takes like maybe 5 to 10 minutes to have a "winner". I don't ever get anything in my Logbook as to whether I "won or lost", only a brief message on my Seachart (which quickly disappears) that says I lost. I feel pretty certain you "must win" to have "Successfully finished" the Chaos task. (I don't show having completed the quest in my Logbook). And I was usually an "Ice" ship in my previous attempts, so I made a wild guess and used ice ammo. Who knows? P.S. Just played the map again...and lost again. Ha-ha...oh well!

You must complete 1st PvP quest line before the second one appear.

Ice Team (blue) must make sure to keep the volcano blue and hit Icy Rocks / Red Team players / Golems to gain points.

Fire Team (red) must make sure to keep the volcano red and hit Rocks / Blue Team players / Golems to gain points.

@Bawdyn You should try Domination as it is not that hard as you may think.

Battle Points have nothing to do with how strong players are.

Everything depends on the cannons, gems, castles and preset, 500 000+ critical indicate that your defence need a lot of improvement.

I can assure you that 500k+ Critical Hits are 100% legal.

Regarding ammunition within Chaos map you must pay attention to your Team, Volcano and NPCs.

Example:

If you are BLUE team - your target is to hit Fire Volcano down (so it turn BLUE - here Burning Ice ammunition would be best), and hit Icy Rocks with Ignis Ammunition for better damage.​

If you are RED team - your target is to hit Icy Volcano down (so it turn RED - here Ignis Ammunition would be best), and hit Rocks with Burning Ice Ammunition for better damage.​

Rymar: I appreciate all that you do. But regardless of that, there is a definite correlation between Battle Points and Strength. I have played virtually every day for 14 years. I can assure you that players that smoke me, and later I sink them "away from keyboard" and get 24 bp or more, they are extremely strong. When someone has a noob boat that gives me 5 battle points, yet they fight better than I do, something ain't kosher! It happens, but is very misleading unless you have seen them botting. But I'll leave it at that.

One more comment: As for the Event group map that I took 500k+ hits in. The five team members I fought were all from one guild that bots non-stop. (There is no polite way to state this fact). That is the *only* time I have played that map and had that happen. When something that dramatic stands out, I tend to quickly notice it. I have a screenshot below with the boat parameters that I have right now on my PvP setup that I used in the group map. I have high Dodge and pretty decent Damage Prevention, although Dodge is more important in PvP. Do you still think I am low on these? If so, what on Earth did I miss? I don't see how an honest player can hit me 500k+ but only in the group maps. I constantly review other players' parameters in order to try to figure out what they might be doing that I am not. P.S. I aced all six of my collegiate statistical courses (including graduate school), so I am not a mathematical dummy.

Hey mate! The impossible happened and after reading Rymar's tips, I finally finished the Chaos Map (see the rewards I got below). (I give credit to the other players on my team. One hit me with a smoke bomb to say: "No, you dummy - don't shoot that"). Be sure you activate *both* of the Chaos quests (I think the quest givers are Ajoje Mino and Norton Maxwell..they both give the same challenge of successful completion of the map. Activate both quests and when you do finish it, you kill "two birds with one stone").

Yes - and I would go as far as to say the currency payouts are unprecedented! (That said, I wonder what is fixing to happen. There almost *has* to be a catch of some sort coming soon).
