Feedback The Elements of Winter

I just didn't bother anymore, I have read the FAQ many times, and reading the forum everyday, I have seen people asking about what and how to do. They were suggesting to "visit atlantis " So I did, although I have less than zero interest in that nonsense.
(We should not be forced to do atlantis to finish surface quests anyway, again a pretty "smart" move.) and just did all quests, I was fed up with all the suggestions and reading FAQ's and nothing works, still no quests anywhere on the surface... finished all quests in atlantis, and there were still none on the surface!

I was so mad I just wanted to throw my TV out the window! I did a logout, clear cache, everything I can... I'm an old pirate, I have seen a couple of things although I wasn't playing for 7 years. So I know you have to logout, troubleshot, stuff like that... Went back to atlantis the second time just to make sure I did everything, and yes, I was.

then back to the surface and magic.... the quests were there! So it was a visual bug, or any other error, it wasn't refreshed the quests or whatever. Keep the money flowing so they could fix these types of errors finally once and for all! (Sarcasm)

So started doing those finally, and got the one that gave me the sentinel of the seas design, finished the dance of death group map after the 25,897th try, got the blood dancer as well and that's it. Bye bye atlantis, never again! It was all so painful, and that mass confusion through the whole event! Now I remember at least why I have quit back then!

All that pain and confusion for these, but I did it! It could have been easier if we had all the information and the game would worked as intended, but that's not how things are working here! (Even after all those years, shocker!)

 

I completed the two I mentioned earlier and then 'That Infernal Machine'. I went back to the surface to get some relief and low and behold, I got a new quest 'Unclear Calculations'. But the jokes on me, it's a quest from a surface quest giver, but the NCPs to kill are in Atlantis. Arghh!!

 

At least you did it, congrats on that!

Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with them, but I just can't make any sense out of their thinking, in any way! It is the exact same thing like doing quests in atlantis, and the quest would be: "Sail to 20/1 map and defeat 15 VCM Bloodfang" Is that makes any sense? No... is their way of thinking makes any sense? No, at least for me...

Overall the event is pretty good for a small boat like myself I got all the overlord and bastion cannons, and got my castles and skills almost done, so I can hit a little harder, but I wish Big point made it a little easier for smaller boats to get some of the cooler ship designs, and not the ones in the event market, but in the group maps....but its still a good event in my eyes

 

Yes, it is. I have seen a "ship" like that, and an evil snowman design yesterday, a couple of similar weird things in the game. It's funny!
I don't know what they have smoked when they thought about this, but I want to try it too!

I have played steadily since 2009 and had never seen this skin before until recently. A fellow pirate had it on, and I asked him because it is a cool skin (and kind of humorous, too). He said he got it long ago, but didn't remember when. Rymar - do you know the name of this skin and when it was available?

 

Yeah same thing, I played from 2011 to 2015, then took a break and just came back recently, and never seen that design during that time period. (I had a thirst for some nostalgia, and meeting old buddies, but sadly they are all gone...) If I have to guess, it's probably a christmas design from 2007-2008 time period.

@The*Defiant Off topic, but the game have changed a lot during my absence, and... not in a good way. I mean, yeah there are a lot of new cool stuff, but it's soul, it's gone... I really hate the new in-game sounds for example. It's just terrible. Back then the repair ammo, flare and normal ammo all had different sounds to it. Now it's all the same.

And the graphics... that is a huge part of every video game, isn't it? What I'm missing, is the gunfire animation when you shoot, and your ship not turning into the direction you shoot. Now you can just shoot with the back of your ship turned into the npc. It's just careless and stupid.

Related, the winter lights had a sparkling effect on the ammo you have shoot with. It's gone, now I just have to lock on the timer to know when I have to reactivate it. I know, small details, but those details make the game complete. It's a mess.

 

I got a question. I hear around there is a new design achievable on this event, a ghost ship, nice one I'd say, with level 32 gems. Ice ghost should be the name in English or something similar.

How can this be won?

 

The design mentioned above, that looks like a dog was given to mods from what I was told to.
An ex guild member of mine had it, and he said it was given to him back when he was a mod.
Not sure how reliable is that info.

 

Hmm, that makes sense we have not seen that one... those mods would have spent their entire game time on the seabed if we did.

I guess you just have to figure it out on your own, as it wasn't mentioned in the FAQ. Maybe from some of the group maps or quest reward. It could be anything, who knows. I bet they don't even know it, as it was all a big confusion!

Give them some time to prepare it, it will be live in a few hours for 15 to 30 minutes. And then they will need a few restarts to fix some critical issues and errors. So in about 3 to 5 hours it will be live, as usual

 

Event has been an absolute joke since you guys took the cannons. No good cannons in shop , nothing . Worst winter event in years. Yes you can get a lot of pearls and crowns etc. But all these currencies are useless if you have bad cannons and can't buy any valuable items for it. Sad the greed took over this event and only payment packs were added. Wasn't the black friday sale expensive enough? Whoever is in charge should take a business course because this business plan is terrible. Milk a few 100 players for all they got instead of getting the whole playerbase to spend a little bit is the worst decision you guys ever made and has made 95% of players quit and there will be more to follow. This game is so much fun its sad to see it die like this. Rip Seafight
