Badge Rank Malfunction.

On my big boat, my badge changed from silver Swashbuckler to gold Buccaneer - and back - several times in a 30-minute period of time. In fact, it changed again even as I typed this! It isn't a big deal to me personally, but some players take these ranks very seriously, so I'm just letting you know. See screenshots with my Microsoft Windows computer time below. (And for the record, I am still over 4 million points above Swashbuckler rank, so it didn't just suddenly change). Thank you.

That's normal when you are on the "edge" of rank up / rank down.

Please note that you've posted print screens from Tuesday (the day when Rift rankings resets), which explain sudden changes.

Just log out/in and it will keep gold as long you keep rank up.

 

I played for an hour+, and it changed back and forth at least 4 times. I don't see how that can be "normal", regardless of the day of the week, and whether or not it is "in the process of resetting"! My total ranking points remained near 140.8 million points, and the level to drop to 136 million - from Buccaneer down to Swashbuckler - was 4.8 million points less. That can't be "normal". And I did log out and back in, and it kept doing the badge-rank switching. But my rank was definitely that of Buccaneer.
Here is additional proof. Last night, it showed I reached "Buccaneer" status on 6/25/2025 (which was yesterday). But today it shows me now with Swashbuckler rank, but with the last Buccaneer rank I had happening near the first of this year. That cannot be right! I looked at my gold badge last night, and had (as stated previously) 4.8 million points above the minimum threshold for Buccaneer.

It is normal, simply because you are making EXP / ELP / BPs and at the same time other players do that too.

Your ELP EXP etc. go up = Your rank points jump a bit = your badge change

Other players made more than you = Your rank points are lower (when compared to them) = your badge change

This is quite simple. And yes this is Normal.

The bottom right corner DO NOT display recent change to your badge, but the HIGHEST badge every achieved on your account and the time and date when that took place. This wont be ever updated on your end till a new rank (Baron) will be reached.

This is completely 100% correct. There is no technical issue regarding the pirate rank.

Well, first of all, it is "broken", I'm sorry to say. You can't argue that players are constantly playing and my rank was legitimately jumping back and forth, when I was 4.8 million points above the minimum threshold for Buccaneer rank. Just a modicum of common sense tells us that much. Stop and think about what I just stated, and I'm sure you will see it. My badge changed up and down multiple times within a 60-90 minute period of time. You should refer this part to a developer to look at it. Also, my rank of Buccaneer, which I once again reached on 06/25/2025, did update and was reflected at the bottom of that screenshot (highlighted above) when I reached it within the 1+ hours that I was playing that day. I saw it with my own eyes. While I didn't exceed the rank of Buccaneer, it updated it to the most recent change. Then it went down to "01/02/2025". Now, it may well be it should not have! It may well be that it wasn't supposed to update, since I didn't exceed the rank. But if so, then it is still "broken", and should be corrected to not update like it did, then reverse course. But those points noted, if you folks don't want to investigate it further, that is your choice. It seems time and again I report technical issues (I think that is the purpose of this part of the forum), only to find myself embroiled in a deep debate over what I encountered. It defeats the purpose of having this section in the forum.

I will try to replicate this issue however to do so I would need your server and user ID.

So, please provide us with both numbers so we can move forward. If you do not wish for your ship ID to be "in public" please create a forum thread in Chat section so other players can't see it (name it "for Rymar") or contact Support providing a link to this forum thread.

Rymar : Not just confined to Dream~Crusher. Happens alot to me as well - especially after restarts. Doesn't bother me tho, as I'm not Rank concious!
