Cycle One – The Guild Era

It all started out of pure boredom just a random Google search that somehow threw Seafight into my path. I joined the English server back when the game was simple. Ten maps. TIA as the big bad beast that could smash you to bits. Higher maps were practically deserted. Every now and then, you'd spot a lone ship and more often than not, it was 1-C Pink Pearl.

I became one of the first full-pearl ships on the server. For nearly a year I sailed alone, just enjoying the grind, the unknown, the excitement of discovering something new. Then I dragged my brother Dropedship into the chaos, and together we formed R€F / R£F – Royal Elite Force.

Our vision wasn’t domination it was community. We recruited new players, showed them the ropes, and built something from nothing. Our first recruit, piratesgonnagetya, was an absolute character the sort of pirate who’d throw himself into a fight without a second thought.
Drop and I took on the role of “enforcers” dropping down into lower maps, giving a few blubs, making our presence known if the lesser established ships needed us . We built a council that became our backbone: Micardo, Drop, Bucky, Bucky Wench, Southern destruction , piratesgonnagetya. At one point, five of us even ended up as Mods which i hold as an achievement due to the number of knowledgable people around at the time.

I even built a website with market guides and fighting tactics. The only real mistake? We stuck to MSN Messenger. Everyone else was on TeamSpeak. Looking back, that one decision probably cost us the chance to take R€F/R£F even further.

Cycle Two – Finding a Home

After the guild eventually split, I needed time away. When I returned, Seafight wasn’t the same game I’d left new maps, new cannons, new rules. The UK server had adopted the alliance system, something I’d only seen on global.

That’s when I joined 1-C the very guild I’d admired when I first started.
It didn’t just feel like joining a guild. It felt like coming home. Strong leadership with a hetirage of history which set standards!.

The tag meant something. The laughs on TeamSpeak, the late nights, the absolute nonsense conversation—that was Seafight to me. The community, the banter, the feeling that you weren’t just logging into a game you were logging into a group of mates.

As time went on, people drifted away. New players brought in new ideas, and that’s natural. But eventually, I hit a point where the changes to the game didn’t sit right with me. So, I disappeared again.

Cycle Three – Relearning the Game

When I came back, I got a shock. My ship, my pride and joy had gone from absolute powerhouse to practically obsolete overnight. Server merges had shaken everything up, and because I was over level 20, I couldn't access the maps with cannon rewards that newer players were getting.

Oblivion gave me a place to reset, relearn, and rebuild. And now, after climbing back from nothing, my ship is finally strong enough to fly the 1-C tag again.

The old days of guiding new players, bringing them into your guild, helping them grow—that’s fading. Now, higher-level players (including me, at times) can dominate events with ease, while lower-level players get flattened. The alliance system restricts PvP more than it encourages it. People shout for server merges, but honestly, some servers need to take a hard look at their alliance structures first.

Shout out to OLD guilds on the UK server:

KRC, BTD, RED, ARG, SRS, S*V, Ť&Ď, SCK, ŚώÀ, DTV, NUT, RN2, FOW, ANT, Z-K,
    300, SAS, WAR, D-K, B*B, SFT, VIP , D1E, EDM, MIG, R-M, NBD, K^W, STP, UTD

    Final Thoughts

For nearly two decades, Seafight has been part of my life. I’ve sailed alone. I’ve built guilds. I’ve helped others grow. I’ve found a gaming home.

The game has changed and not always for the better but the friendships, the laughs, the memories those are priceless.
