League of Captains

Hi everyone,
I’m making this post hoping that someone can help me with League of Captains. I’ve read all the information available about it on the forum and beyond, so I know how Tiers, equipment, etc. work. I own many captains with different types of perks. My questions are :
1.Does the name of the captain matter for which ones I should focus on, or are they just names?
2.Which captains should I focus on promoting, and what perks or combination of perks should they have so I can get the most out of them?
2.And does it matter if the captain I assign for manoeuvre is Elite or Epic?


I would like an experienced player or a moderator to give me an example of how they should be, maybe with a picture or something, because I’m really afraid I might waste perks and captains due to lack of knowledge. I would be very grateful, and thank you.

In my experience the surname of different captains is very important, all captains belong to a particular family and you should take a look at new captains who have not completed any missions as yet, You will notice different statistics for different captains, Keep an eye out for captains who at base level have higher statistics than others and make a note of that family name, I would advise you to concentrate on these captains mainly and build them up through levels and empowering them with perks you may require, Take a look at the high level missions and see which perks will work for you best regarding rewards.
Below is an example of a strong captain with useful perks at a high level.

Regarding captain manoeuvres, No it does not give any advantage assigning an epic captain over an elite one, It is just a fact that manoeuvres can only be assigned from captains of Elite level or higher.
