I read in the event FAQ something about "secret quests"...but until now I found none, although I had done every quest.
What is the secret with the secret quests?

Secret quests - as the nickname suggest, are being kept secrets even from us.

If you've done all event quests and have access to the "full Frozen Abyss" market then most likely you've found all of them.

Success in the Abyss still eludes me. I have helper Bob at buff level 5 for the +10k damage and at 7 for the other two Protect and Heal) yet I can't get past wave 8. I pop into the map and am instantly overwhelmed by NCP and sunk in seconds. There is no open space to retreat to. Any tips on how to get through that wave and beyond?

Your Bob isnt that bad to be honest but could be better for sure. My own Bob is currently 10/10 in both Festive Cheer and Cratchit's Barrage additionally I've got 5 in Family Bond, so we are not that far apart in that field.

Are you also taking additional buffs for yourself? The ones that last 24 hours?

In order to complete this map you'd need 3/3 in Scrooge's Protection, 3/3 in Scrooge's Quickness and either Revenge or Retribution.

So, perhaps purchase 1 buffs up to 1/3, play a bit gather more Humbugs and upgrade yourself to 2/3 this will let you move forward further within waves.

Additionally I do recommend pushing with your ship towards the top left corner from your spawn point as the islands found there create a small safe spot (NPCs are very rarely going there) where you could stand still and heal your HP with HP/VP amulets.

I know you are an older player, which mean you have experienced the "range" gameplay within old bonus maps where you had to move your boat back and forth to avoid being shot - this map is exactly the same especially with Bob. You can get closer and pull back from an NPC but your Bob will still deal a bit of damage therefore healing you!

I focused on Bob for the healing because I can't see surviving at all with the healing.

I haven't tried any of the buffs for my own boat as I've been trying to upgrade Bob with the Humbugs.

Yes, I'm familiar with the method to get a shot in and then retreat. That's the only reason I've made it past wave 6. I also have used the top left corner as a resting spot. Neither of these help though when you pop into the map with 4-6 NCP all hitting you and I'm sunk before I can even get around the corner of the first island.

At least I've finally got the 20 bosses for the event completion, so the rest is just gravy.

 

Reposting: Can the npc design "Frozen Dread" be acquired? I was curious. Thank you.

Hey buddy! I feel your pain. I searched the internet last year, and found an interesting video about this map. (I kept it bookmarked). One guy took 37:17 minutes to do the final 5 waves (which always makes one wonder about these "Speedrunner/Eternal Survivor" rankings). Search the phrase: "Seafight: A Christmas Peril - Frozen Abyss Dungeon (Wave 11 to 15 - Final Boss, using Bob Cratchit)" and look at the video dated December 25, 2024. It may give you added insight.

The 24-hour buffs are highlighted in white below. You can buy up to 3 of them with humbugs, and the only requirement is to have enough of the humbugs currency to buy them. I believe they are stackable up to level 3, which gives you the maximum benefit.

 

How can I get a lot of eventpoints? So far i did every quest, mini games and so on but still 400k eventpoints. 600k to go. How??

The best way to obtain event points is to hit all admirals which sail on the waters, you still have plenty of time so this shouldn't be a problem.

If you can get bob to 10/10 and the main buffs , protect, revenge and retribution to 3/3 you are to all purposes indestructible for waves 1-10, waves 6-9 focus on condemnations and winter lights shoot and run save the little npcs till the end, second christmas takes about 35 mins. Waves 11+, 100 humbugs for npc, 950 for boss. Ive not got to wave 15 as it takes too long.
Factoid, Mistletoe and whine needs 500 memories.

I saw that video last year then requested they repeated it mouse only, video never appeared.

 

Since I have the 20 bosses for the event completion and almost all of what I want for Humbugs in the Shop, I'm going to focus on getting enough event points to complete before I spend much more time on they abyss. Since I only have 16/50 for the next Bunny quest, I can't see ever completing even that. With level 7 on the two main buffs (Bob) I'm still sunk in wave 8 in seconds. I can't see how 3 more levels is going to make me indestructible. At the rate that the price for buffs is going up I won't be able to upgrade those either. It takes me 15-20 min to get past wave 5 and another 15-20 to get to wave 8.

Purchase your own buffs instead of upgrading your Bob further. Without that you won't move forward at all.
