I'm not sure what you are saying about that video.

Some guy leads my server right now on the "Speedrunner" ranking, with 30:03 minutes for completing all 15 waves. It makes me wonder how he did it so fast. If you watched that video from 2024, it would sure make one wonder. That guy took 37:16 minutes to do the final 5 waves, and he looked pretty good! The map this year may be easier (I'm uncertain at this point), but wow - 30:03 seems fast!

 

it's not that hard to reach that time. I did it in about 38 min and I didn't use almost at all rockets, mines and also did not use the best amulets. Just use tiny tim with max buffs and he together with your own damage and reload time reduction buffs will make your ship shot every 1.8-1.9s so you can reach that time. It's also about luck a little because sometimes it takes time to find the remaining enemies on the map.

 

Minimum required for an easy ride to complete wave 10.
24hr buff, Scrooge protection 3/3
Bob Family bond 10/10
Bob Festive cheer 10/10
1v1 against condemnations / winter lights bob repairs faster than you are damaged.
Other buffs speed up reload and damage reducing time to do the waves.
Dont run too far from the npc's Bob wont shoot them and repair you.

 

It seems there is a consensus on using the buffs on your own boat. I had been focusing the Humbugs on upgrading Bob, so hadn't even looked at them.

Now that they've reduced the Event Points for completion, I can relax a bit and try the Abyss again with these tips. Thanks everybody!

@Rymar - One small thing; the FAQ says Thursday Jan 6 for the end of the event. Jan 6 is a Tuesday.

EDIT: I have received something called Cold as Ice, but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone know what it is? Also I've been getting something called Summoning Spell I/II and II/II. I found them in my Depot, but I don't know what they do (if anything?)

Yahaha! You are right - Corrected.

Cold as Ice is a player badge, in order to have it displayed on your account you need to complete a log out / in.

Summoning Spell is simply a quest item.

Hey buddy! I have 7/10 on the three Bob Cratchit buffs, and using 1/3 on the three 24-hour buffs, I made it to wave 11. (I did make it once before now to wave 11, but it's tough). As you know, it's a headache, but maybe there is hope yet for our getting further. Like you said, having the event point requirement lowered gives us more time to fiddle with this map.

 

Wasn't the 6th phase of this event supposed to start today? I can't find any new quests on the surface or Atlantis. I looked at the quest givers in the Atlantis, Abyss and the SH. Did I miss something?

 

Could someone confirm that how that eternal survivor works, for example since I dont have all companions upraged and I have to leave dungeon to get right one, does that reset the progress? And next time make it please that we can choose the companion we want before entering portal.

 

So - I decided to shoot one of these latest npcs (Ice Queen), and I received the following:

2026-01-01 00:10:57 You received 31217 x Event points.

And I received this amount in less than 40 minutes of shooting. My aura still had over 20 minutes left on it. Go figure! We were left wondering how we were going to accumulate enough event points to reach the "event completion" goal, and here at the end, we find these? The planning is just nutty. We probably didn't need the point goal lowered (or at least, by as much as 250,000), had we known this would occur. But "oh well"....

 

OK, it said I was awarded this buff, but I do not see it anywhere in my inventory. How to utilize?? Also got Companion of Mercy, tried clicking on it, no effect that was apparent. What is it? How to use? Also received "Stocking Killer" for completing event - what is it? How to use? It does not appear in my inventory, nor does Legba's Patronage, so how am I to use these things, and what do they do???

 

You get to keep your earned humbugs, but nothing else. The levels start over at 1.

 

I figured out that the Stocking Killer is a pet with one regular gem and one special gem. From it's description in the mouse over in the completion list I thought it added two more slots for pet assistants, but it was not that.

That is correct. Your ranking would stop adding further waves as soon as you leave the dungeon.

So yes, you have to complete it with the companion assigned to you by the game.

1. For Legba's Patronage, go to your Seachart "Overview", then look at your "Booster" tab. The Legba's Patronage is under that part, with the "time remaining" also displayed. You get 50,000 more Voodoo Points. You can also buy it in the market:



2. Companion of Mercy is something you give to other players, to help them out. Here is what it delivers:

This item can be used within the depths of Atlantis.

3. As pirate Bawdyn stated, "Stocking Killer" is a pet. Strip off the special gem and put it into your inventory, or use it if you like it, and maybe strip off the other gem that it comes with, and upgrade it.
