Event NPCs hit that hard because the event was designed this way - which in my personal opinion is good.

The damage received overall do not change, which allow for the use of Storm Lanters for example - as no matter how much damage prevention in minus you'll have it won't affect the amount of damage received by you.

FYI, you can easily out range the Nina and with winds you can out range Pinta.

EDIT: Also it seems there is a 15 Florian Coin limit, so you have to spend them as you get them to get more.

  6. you can out range them but not the Santa maria but I understand what you mates are saying
    another great event by BP....smh
that is True MR.B but i also think they should make the Santa Maria passive trying to do quest is a pain and change the damage, but once again i see Bp fine minds hard at work great seeing you mate

  7. can u rephrase this?
santa maria has standard 200k dmg per hit, no matter our dmg prevention it still always hit 200k>?
or are you saying with lanterns making dmg prevention in the negative wont make the maria hit harder.

He means that since storm lanterns cause you to take more damage in exchange for hitting harder, use them, since damage prevention is basically worthless. We continue to have this problem with event npcs hitting way too hard, and nobody listens to us.

    Ahoy ♠ĐƩƧƮƦƱƆƬǾƦ•ΫƋMƌ┼Ø♠!

    Sure!

No matter what you change on your ship the event NPC will hit you the same.

So if you have Ribs / Ablative Platings or Lanterns, it doesn't matter as the damage dealt by the NPC won't change.

That's why I suggested the use of Lanterns - to increase the damage you do on an event NPC because even if your damage prevention drop to -100% it won't change the damage dealt by event NPC at all.

Looks like the event completion challenge this time will be experience points. Nina gives 100k and Pinta gives 400k, but it's going to be a hard slog to get 125m points in 5 days. Most of the way through day 2 and I'm only ~30m so far. I don't mention Santa Maria as it hard to get much on it with the number of people hitting it, not to mention repeat sinkings.

I know yesterday I had finished at least one event quest, and I had collected Florin coins. Since the update, I lost my event progress on the quest and lost "all" of the Florin coins.

I would like to also complain about these Event NPC's hitting so hard! No amount of reason can be explained about this event. I have spent $$ on this game over the years to build a boat with items BP sells for real $$, and now you are telling us certain items do not work for these NPC's.

BP better rethink their ideas on this game otherwise it is going to start losing players again.

And that is a key point! You can't out-range the admiral, and since experience points are desperately needed for the "event completion" requirement, it looks like the developers have made another math mistake. That is, unless we are expected to chase shooting the other npcs forever to get to 125 million EP. The prizes aren't worth the effort.

Unfortunately, doing a huge amount more damage with storm lanterns won't solve the problem of virtually a total loss of damage prevention. We lose hit points when we pull off plates/ribs and replace them with lanterns, and we can't survive 200k volleys for long against these npcs!

This reminds me of many years ago, when the "cannon loader" castle (which I had maxed at level 4) was changed to 6 levels. But at level 6, we only got back to where we were at level 4! What a rip-off that was! Some of the decisions they make on the way things work in this game are nutty, or just pure "money-grabs". Make that just pure "money-grabs". But to your point, when something you purchased with cash suddenly is made inactive, that is plain wrong. In fact, at times you can read in the "Patchday Notes" where they FIXED something you have on your ship that you assumed was working (and that you paid for), but it actually wasn't working. For how long was it like that? Who knows? And yet they want us to buy these expensive packages for cash? I don't think so!

    I'm a bit confused regarding the quests;
I've done 2 from Knives McGee (SH) but have 0/3 completion ---- am I missing something?

Yes you need the third quest to get 1/3.

As @.Kenze. says, the third one is what counts. It is the daily quest, so hopefully you get it done soon as there is only a few days left. FAQ says it resets every 12 hours, but I haven't seen that myself.

In season requirement, under event, "log in to Columbus 1" is worth 5 COE. I have logged in every day and it STILL says ZERO. What is the problem here...?

    Ahoy Bawdyn!

You can make 125m EXP within 2 hours without any major issues. Please be aware that the EXP required for this event can be gained in any way you can think of such as:

    - Doing any quests within the games (recommended: All Crown and Yulong coins via your League of Captains)
    - Bonus Maps (recommended: Capricornus with Speed Up, just spam these maps 1 by 1)
    - Repair other players that do event NPCs around maps
    - Equip Heliodor special gem (+30% EXP), use Snowman (+25%) and 1 candle (+15%) when you do anything - including bonus maps via League of Captains!

    Ahoy Tylergma1999!

Please be aware that this event have 3 quests and only 1 (the final one) adds to the event completion.

It is impossible for a singular player to lose their event completion progress or their in-game currency.

What I believe is that you've done just 1 or 2 event quests and didn't look at the event completion (to check which one actually counts), and then went to the market and purchased something from the event section (note almost everything require Florin Coins).

    Ahoy Pagan_Spirit!

Yes, you just missed that only one, the final one, actually addes +1 to your event completion.

Please put your mouse over the quests requirements, it will tell you everything.

    Ahoy Bawdyn!

The FAQ provided to us was wrong, quest resets once a day - 12 noon.

    Ahoy Tergrinder!

No problem at all. This tasks provide you with 5 season coins as soon as you login during that day.

Please put your mouse over the skull image next to the task it will display you x/5 - thats the amount of days you have logged onto your account during this event.
