Anyone that can give me a tutorial on how to get better stuff?

Hey guys, I've been at it for months, and I've just now gotten about 100 50 pounders and 40 admiral cannons. Great start, but I haven;t even started on 55s, 60s, voodoo and now doomhammer cannons. How in the world can I get all those and compete without spending any money?

 

You can get 55's and 60's from shipwrecks and the black market, chests, a few packs off an abundance of elite cannons, I'd only go for 60's and admirals if I were you, 60's for fighting and using pearl ammo and admirals for getting ELP, doomhammer's suck and voodoos are pricey.

As the mate said, you can get cannons from wrecks and black market depending of the event. Don't go for voodoos nor doomhammers as those are wallet-only. Admirals are great for farming. (I am not a farmer)

I'd also suggest, teaming up in a strong supportive guild that will teach you the game and help you through the levels, this will also give you support if you wanted to farm admirals. At level 20 I can make 80k pearls a day whilst I'm modding, so you could get more, but that's the main perk to being level 20 and we're talking how to get there To start out with, you're doing great, for premium, I'd suggest getting keys and hopefully get lucky ( if you're going to do this, set skills up in legba, to get 2 months premium) , although i'd wait for events and let them swap over, saving 400 pearls on each key. Continue bidding, this is your path to glory. Shiny hunt- scrolls are your best friend. Do the events and save your pearls, on some events you gain crystalls, use these to get your skill points, and the pearls you make, use these to get castles on castle days. Also If you want to spend any money what so ever, the crate that I find contains the best value in the whole entire game, is the crate of glory.

Yeah that's a ton of help! Another question I've had is staying or leaving at level 15. A ton of people have told me to stay at level 15 because there is a sun bonus map, but a ton of people also tell me that level 20 is the best place for pearls. I'm only level 5 right now, so this isn't going to be a problem for a long time, but eventually it'll be a pretty big decision.

 

depends how many times you get sunk from the sun map, if you don't get sunk from sun map too often then level 15 is best, you make a lot more pearls there

 

Here's my two cents on the levels.

Level 5: The advantage is you get noobie protection everytime you're sunk, so you can't be chained, and you can shiny hunt in the 1 maps. Disadvantage, if you level up you will lose this and can be chained all day should you wind someone up enough.

Level 15: You can make pearls easy in the sun map, and can get to 80% ish of maps so you won't miss out on too much fighting. Disadvantage, you can't go higher, and the 15 maps are annoying to be in for a long period, the sun map can get full of big boats will happily blast you to the deepest depths of the seas and the NPCs in there don't shoot too hard.

Level 16 and above up to 20: in 16 maps you get swash bucklers, these give 1.6mil gold each, 400k hp. and access to the behemoth map, the leviethiathons in there have 750k hp and shoot ~3k they reward between ~500-~1000 pearls each. They have very long range, and shoot you as soon as you come within their range. Disadvantage to this is once you go to level 16 there's no turning back, so if you have any buddies in the sun map and they're getting sunk out, you can't go and help them. Being level 19 and 20, you get access to the marduk, as the server progresses, competition for these become a lot more harder to beat, and so they become a good free source of pearls every hour, but not many. In which case it's not really worth it, but during events ( especially good ones ) the marduks tend to be forgotten about I've had 5 on my screen once.

If you're looking for 55 pounders just wait for an event that will offer you to bid them. In the meantime, when the event isn't up, just farm gold so you can bid them with a bit of it. I'm sure you knew that alreday, but in case you didn't...

 

Easiest way to get better stuff is to spend money :3

 

Certain events have shipwrecks, like Jolly Rodger Days. Good way to get elite cannons! P ammo! iron harpoons! and action items! There are some packs that are great at a very reasonable price. I'd look at them before rolling your eyes. Also the help you can get from a good guild is invaluable! They can be the difference from seeing events come and go to really being able to get some great benefit from them.

 

I would stay as you are for the moment and build up ship in sun maps get some of your castles and skills done out of the way. but if your board why not move up all depends on how strong you are and if youre a member of a good guild at the moment really.We used to like getting to the 8 maps build gold up in there n shoot for admirals save pearls up for canons and castles

 

As everyone has stated there are many ways to build your ship, but it will require time . The method i found most useful was hunt in a small group (3-4 boats) and shoot down Lucias till an admiral pops up. Get pearls off that , or you could join a "Farming" guild and hunt all day in the raid, which in time will payout great and help you build the basics.

 

+ watch the videos - easy & simple way to give you a few pearls for free - you can upgrade your admiral cannons to 60s via the Forge but you then lose the ability to get 40 elp points for each salvo - so don't!; just keep plugging away & you'll get there in the end

 

Shoot flying Dutch. find a border and they will come to you after you shoot a few. Easy pearls. Shineys for gold. Don't forget scrolls. A good guild is a must. Good Luck...Ratt

 

Thank for all the help guys! I've used most of these methods to try to earn as many items as possible. The players on my server often see me as fresh meat, so I've decided to remain at level 5 to avoid being chain sunk. This has saved me many times, and I believe it's worth having to wait for the upper level experience. I've joined a fairly powerful guild, and they help me out a lot.

In other news, I'm only 1 or 2 cannons short of a full loadout. The vast majority are 50 pounders of course. Over the past few events I've earned 250,000 pearls! That's 25 more admiral cannons! (anyone know when they will be available for me to buy?)

So my current plans for the future are listed below, please tell me what I should change! I know they aren't perfect.
1. Get the full loudout of admiral cannons. I hear this makes leveling up incredibly easy.
2. Once I have all the admiral cannons, use pearls for ship castles, but only on castle days so that I can save as many as possible.
3. Save up ammo/ spend a lot of time on the events that pay out crystals to earn skill points
4. Spend days when there's no event going in the sun map. Hollow the small ships for pearls and repair other players for experience when the Amaterasu spawns.

Any ideas on other stuff to do/work on?

 

Just a question. How did you get 250k pearls? I never manage to get so many.
And you should bid crystals everyday to get skill points/upgrade cannons (Crystals are so useful!)
The plan is pretty nice.

 

I just did the best I could on the last 2-3 events. They gave free ammo and stuff and I took full advantage of it.

 

I got 2 pumpkin maps left (~100k pearls) and I should be able to enter the minigame 4 times (~400k pearls) I have ~960k pearls atm. Once you become level 16, you get lots of pearls

 

@www, I would say level 15, not level 16. At level 15 you get the best of all worlds except Marduk.

Just ask the 10,000 players that stay there for baby raid.
