Support Logging on Multiple Client Ships.

It is entirely possible for ships with Identical names to be logged on to the Game at the same time, as well as post on this Forum. It has occurred several times with my User name. Screenshots have been supplied to Support in the past as well as E-Mails to Privacy. Support replied they could do nothing about it and Forum Admin says it is not possible. In light of these responses the question is: If multiple ships can be logged on with the client how is it possible for somebody to use my Username that is password protected. I only use the client.

Thank you for your question, as noted in the previous thread you asked about this, having an identical username is not possible. What you are seeing when a name appears the same is a different unicode character being used. So that means, that although the letter looks exactly like a normal letter, it has a different value to a computer.

As an example, and in the instance you have mentioned regarding another forum user, the S's in that users name have a different value than the S's in your name:

• S - This is the character in your name
• S͏ - This is the character in the other forum users name, looks identical but actually contains a combining grapheme joiner (search the internet for further information if you wish).

Now, back to Seafight and the Client to clarify; it is not possible for anybody to have the exact same username as you. Your username will only work with your password, and only them two together will grant access to your account.

Thx for the explanation. One last comment. What you just said in conjunction with other cryptic fonts has rendered Guild search and Spying as virtually useless Game functions it also permits other players to visually Hijack another players Identity and use rhetoric that is less than favorable for the player whose visual identity has been Hijacked. By the way what you said does not explain why the Forum picture (JPG) of my Hijacked User name was exactly the same as the one you see here. Cant say that is the best of Game play. You may close this.

I shall of course forward your comments onto the Game Team regarding special characters within names and guild tags.

Should you feel that someone is impersonating you in order to defame you, you will have to contact Support regarding that, unfortunately I am unable to help in that matter.

What image a user chooses as their avatar is this choice, and unfortunately if a player right-clicks your image they have the ability to save it, and then if they choose upload the image as their avatar.
