The present-hunting challenge for the Christmas Event remains a bad joke! I found a player (protected by his mates - no problem - part of the game), but then hiding in the center of his Guild's island! That is a loophole that BP should close. It would take another Guild's "army" attacking him and his mates - all holded up in their island - to have a chance at the present. And that messes it up for any solo/new player to have a chance at getting the present.

And one more thought: I have seen *more* than once, one player's ship get the present constantly and quickly. There is **no way** this is just "luck". A program is being used to read the code for the present. There is no other viable explanation, unless he had like 7 Guild mates searching the Map and relaying messages (not illegal). But such was not the case in these circumstances. Flat cheating.

 

lovely event, really, 1 gift for the entire player group level 1-35 and 1 gift for players level 36-50. no chance on this quest/puzzle piece, always the same top players. no chance unless you can hit 1 million hp, sail 10x the average player, and have programs to locate that gift and pick it up first. I actually thought for once I had a chance to get it and get puzzle piece, nope, maybe next year, hurray for those who can get it, again while they are afk.

 

Absolutely correct and well-said, mate! And these are the very same players (with very few exceptions) who brag, brag, and brag some more about how great they are. (Hint: they aren't great, but their illegal software gives them that "illusion").

Regarding the subject of "External Programs" there is no such program within the game as well as it not being entirely possible.

I am sorry to hear about your issues with this part of the event and I will forward this feedback regarding the gift onto the appropriate party.

To add to the theory it is more than possible to have many players under the Light of Tortuga working to help 1 player continuously get the gift.

If you still believe there to be some kind of "cheat" to this sub-event be it maybe something as simple as co-ordinates for spawning the gift being too limited.

Then please send a report of this into Support with any and all evidence for them to investigate this further.

Rymar: Respectfully, I totally disagree. I am pretty certain that code can be written to locate certain items. We see it every day that we play on here with the bots. I often play when players are rather scarce to be found, yet these things still happen. But that said, I doubt that either of us has the credentials to definitely state what you just did. Unless one is a "bonafide expert" in the field of programming, then "never say never".

I *have* seen a bot template. Our guild leader showed me the template in Teamspeak years ago. (I took a screenshot of it too). He did not want to say where he got it (he didn't cheat, but I knew one of our members did, so maybe he got it from him). My point: It blew me away what one could do with that particular program! (And this was many years ago). A classic feature in it was that when attacked, it immediately deployed a smoke bomb on the attacker and then activated a speed crystal to flee at full speed. And lo and behold: one guy I fought had been doing that to me virtually every time I was about to sink him, exactly as described. A coincidence? Maybe - but I think not!

 

I have an issue, i had 5 pieces of puzzle collected from ship design and it shows me i have collected 0. What happend?

The lag is certainly bad, with all of the NPCs that we have running around.
