Why are players penalized for using legitimate dragonfire ammo to sink others, in respect to earning battle points?

    Ahoy Dream~Crusher!

Dragonfire is an action item, not ammunition.

Rockets sinks never provided battle points, this is not a bug but intended game mechanic.

Do you have any further questions?

in this case, it is a matter of semantics. Using dragonfires as "weapons" to attack in PvP is a legitimate method, whether one deems them to be "ammo", an "action item", or something else. It is sad that BP sells this item for fighting, yet when it is used, it negates getting battle points (and they can be bought with hard-earned cash money). And yes - technically, I could only use them to sink npcs. But why would I spend 20 dollars to buy them and just shoot npcs? That would be crazy. Lastly, I doubt they have "always" been like this (look at the plethora of patchday notes that get issued). I would not have used them for so many years, if that was the case. I didn't reach a high bp rank by failing to understand how things interact. I have no further questions.

Update: Can you explain to me how this just happened? I used dragonfires at the end of the fight and did get battle points. Or does the battle points exclusion only happen when the sink itself is from dragonfires. If so, that is a terrible rule.

    2024-10-14 16:46:42 You received 16 battle points.
    2024-10-14 16:46:42 You sank XXXXXXXXXXX's ship.
    2024-10-14 16:46:38 11x Dragonfire Level 2 was/were removed. Reason: Used.
    2024-10-14 16:46:37 You've used a(n) Taureau Amulet.

    Ahoy!

Yes you used Dragonfires, but these did not deal the last hit on your target and that's why you received BPs for sinking a player.

Everything works as described in our FAQ:

I had read that before this last post, and that's why I asked. Why would the developers make it like that? You can use those items during the battle, but when you use it for the last shot you get penalized? It absolutely makes no sense. As I said, that is a terrible and incomprehensible rule! Can you suggest how that is logical?
