Just sail (without an aura) for many hours per day (while getting sunk), and shoot admiral event ships, while the rest of your life suffers. Anyone can do it! <--(I think I'll pass). This is just a pitiful way to have to play this game, especially when we had looked forward to a nice Christmas event. We are given so little information, but that's just the way they do things here.

I shoot admirals for quests mostly, but have shot others. For the fist several days they gave less than for the lowest NCP for event points. Then they fixed that and not I get 500-2k from them I haven't tried the new Frostbane yet, does it give more than the previous ones? Or are you lucky enough to find one with only a couple of other shooters? The admirals I find all seem to have 20+ people shooting them.

I have to agree. It seems bizarre that they would have quests without event points. I wish the Abyss would too since we are forced to spend so much time there to get the 20 bosses. I have helper Bob at buff 5 or 6 for all buffs, but still can't get past map 7.

The problem with these admirals is just what you said: the (few) people I see playing this event do try to hit them, in order to complete the various quests, etc. And since many are in the same guild - or are allied with other guilds - even a strong player has to be bubbled to stay afloat, and as you know, our auras are limited. I don't like having to shoot admirals to try to get most of my event points. And the only other choice is to just "hope" future quests pay (many) more event points. Otherwise, it looks bleak.

Just now, I had a chance (and the time) to solo Captain Scourge. It took a long time, since it had 1,035,000,000 hit points! Here are the results:

    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 6874888 x Pearls.
    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 26901 x Event points.
2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 8951676 EXP (experience points).
    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You sank Captain Scourge's ship.
    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 8 x Event key.
    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 10 x Ancient Emblem.
    2025-12-12 17:08:21 You received 449789 x Snow ammunition.

Even though it paid a lot of event points, this isn't a viable formula for accumulating one million points. This is rare, to find one to solo without interruption, and to have the time to do it. So, if I don't make the total event points needed, then "so be it". I'm sick of asking why they don't make this information more transparent.

The "frozen abyss" map stinks, plain and simple! I reread the discussion section from last year on it. The "heads" of the assistants constantly get in the way of target locks. Someone mentioned this last year. Yet, the problem remains the same. The hub takes forever to move around in. We can't use speed crystals there, but *can* inside the dungeon. Plus, it takes a very long time to get the buffs built up. And it just takes too long to try to complete it - even once. Last year, I did get the final boss down to 20 million on one trip, but lost my internet connection! I also had a week I didn't play it at all. But it was very tough to try to complete. One good player - whom I respect - said he did complete it last year - once. Despite what you may hear, it *is not easy*. And if someone wants to run to a corner of the dungeon and repair with amulets to try to stay alive, then "more power to them"!

Here are a couple of tips that might help you: one tip (that I read last year) was to be sure "to range the npcs", to avoid taking some of the horrendous damage. That does help, especially on npcs like the "condemnation" npc. Also - right now, I am at 4/5/5 on Bob Cratchit's buffs, and the furthest I've been is through wave 7. One day, I did buy the three 24-hour buffs (at 150 humbugs apiece), and I believe they did help me. When I get further along, I'll max them out, assuming I have a lot more humbugs to buy them with. But because of the difficulty, and the extreme amount of time all of this adds up to, I don't know if I'll try to complete all 15 waves (even just once). And I'm definitely not going "to spend my life" trying to get the 800 memories needed for that one quest! <--Correction: "only" 500 memories! Wow!

@The*Defiant - I agree with you and I'm at a similar place with the Abyss. I have figured out about ranging them. I can't range them but Bob can if you get him in the right place.

I'm currently stuck at the last question quest. I need to complete the Snowman's Lair, which I assume is the Snowman Crusher in the FAQ (Why can't they ever get the names in the FAQ to match reality??). Either way, I can't find it. I checked every quest giver in the SH, the Abyss, and Atlantis. Nada. Any idea where you get into it?

EDIT: Two in SH give Krampus Peril. I wonder if one of them is really the Lair?

In the dungeon, try backing off quite a bit, then move quickly in and out of their range. That's how you can range those pesky npcs.

I think it is the mini-game under Haldor Olafson. (At least, I assume it is; like you said, it's confusing)!

@The*Defiant - Thanks for that. I'm not sure how I missed the mini-game part under the quests (the ones with no event points, so maybe why I didn't look further :p ).

Hmm, now I need to get a Magic Emblem.

I hear you, brother! I saw a quest earlier that said it involved a snowman's map, and I thought "whatever - I'll try to figure it out later". And like you, some quests we take the time to do, and then we only get 500 points? For others, we get nothing? What? It makes me not want to do many of them. And I liked your suggestion of earning event points from the dungeon. Right now, I'm at only about 184k event points, and that's after getting 26k off of one Captain Scourge. Looking ahead, it looks like a long hill to climb.

One more thing - on the tough dungeon waves, I use a "hot key" on my keyboard to attack the npcs, while using my mouse to move my ship. I get a lock first, and then run away (while shooting) until I'm outside the npc's range. Then I come back, weaving "in and out" of the npc's range. I'm nowhere close to an expert, but that seems to help me. (That said, I just now had the boss on wave 5 down to one shot, and I got sunk. Oh well!).

I always use the hotkey. I've been zooming in a bit for the wave 5 boss (Past) as I find that easier to get a lock when Bob sits right on top of everything. It's the waves after that that luck makes the biggest difference. If they are all near by when you go into the map you get killed right away. If they are further away, you can get to a better place and deal with them one at a time. I still haven't completed wave 8 and only completed 7 once and 6 twice.
