I believe I read what I could in the Seafight Bible- found out how to buy more cannon slots and extension/expansion slots and have plenty of cannons in inventory but the bible does not show how to add more cannons to the ship. I even purchased (with gold) a "bigger" ship but still only have 10 cannons on the ship. Currently level 4 so not sure if I am limited to just 10 cannons.

Also, purchased a torpedo launcher but when I place it on the sub (right side of equipment screen) and it shows the torpedo launcher icon with a 0.... and can not shoot a torp to anything.

HELP!!?? I am returning from around 2012..... and am very confused!!!!

    Hello there Pirate,

Some time ago the Caribbean area was reworked.
This means that all players of any level when entering maps 1-5 are now on a level field, with a maximum of 10 cannons being able to be equipped, along with many more restrictions.
Once you progress to map 6 and beyond your ship will have full capabilities that you have available regarding cannons, buffs etc.

Regarding your submarine query, You may have torpedo launchers which are used with the tinkering tools to increase your torpedo stats however you need to progress through the Atlantis questline to open your torpedo 'slots'.
You will then have to equip a torpedo type into the slot in order for it to fire.

The picture below illustrates your torpedo slots, in this instance two slots are open and 4 are still locked, meaning when this sub fires, two torpedoes are launched, the locked slots will be unlocked when questline progression is reached at certain points.

I hope this information helps you with your game progression.
