    I stand corrected. I could have sworn it was over at noon.

    OK, as for your question then, I have seen announcements for the cake when it spawned. I'm not sure how close you needed to be to see the announcement, but it was at least 2 maps away. It only spawned many hours apart (5 hrs in the last days? it was a lot longer at the start) so it was easy to miss unless you were on for long times and always watching. I only saw 3 cakes in person in the whole event, but also saw announcements for 2-3 other ones.

    Ahoy mate,

    It spawns every 5 hours and a notification will be shown for the surrounding maps. You will need to be in the area or have other mates in the area to let you know!
