Bonus Maps

I just tried to access the Cancer Bonus Map and I got a message stating that I can't do that. I have never seen that message before. Why can't I access the map?

It is no longer possible to enter a Bonus Map from the Safe Haven anymore, is this the cause of your issue?

when it's a restart going on, during 30 mins before the restart u cant acces the bonus maps!
i guess thats the reason u cant access bonus maps!

Yes, I have been trying to enter from the Safe Haven as I have in the past. Why is this not possible anymore? If I enter a bonus map from another area, will it leave me vulnerable in that location? What are the consequences?

This change was made on the 21st of September, as announced in the Patchday Notes 2018:

Why this change has occurred now, I can not comment on, other than this is the choice of the Game Designers. I will state however, that before the map layout was changed, in the old layout you previously could not jump into a bonus map from a Safe Haven.

Once you enter a Bonus Map your boat will be in the bonus map, no player will be able to sink or shoot you. The only difference is that players would if they so wish, shoot you during the 15 second countdown before you enter the bonus map.
