How does this really work? Lets say there are 5 people waiting to capture, and all of them start holding the button-capture. How does the system determine which one gets to capture first?

Does it matter how early you pust the button? Internet-connection?

  2. it does not matter as soon as you see the capture button then click does not go on how early realy but who ever gets it first will be the one to capture it

    Ahoy,

Your fellow pirate is correct, if their are five people holding the capture button it is whoever the server receives a message saying "I am attempting to capture the ship" from first, as long as the ship is below the boarding threshold (50% HP) and the boarding bonus is higher than the ships boarding defence value.

So often it depends on the players reaction time, PC, internet connection and even distance from the server, however, any player could be lucky and win the boarding attempt.

Well, the fellow pirate isnt exactly like your answer, cause the capture button becomes available before 50% damage is done. My question is rather the time between the availability of capture-button and the excact time the ship is under 50%, if it actually makes any difference to hold the capture button early or later between these two points.

I reckon it might not be any good answer to this, except experience from fellow pirates.

    Ahoy,

The person who is deemed successful is the player whose "boarding attempt" message reaches the server first after the HP is below the required amount.

Now in my own personal opinion and not that of Bigpoints, with that being said, it might be possible that someone who presses the button before it is boardable, that their message could reach the server after the HP is low enough - although we are talking milliseconds.

Has this now answered your query?
