I reported earlier that my Sellsword wasn't changing anything when he was assigned. I only noticed this intermittently so wasn't sure what was going on. I have figured out more about it now.

First off, the Guardian is also affected.

The problem seems to be that the info about how long they have until they expire does not update again after you go onto the sea. Because this doesn't update, the officer isn't removed when it expires. You lose all of its benefits but it still appears to be active. You can even take him off and add him back on (to no effect). Only once you sign out and back in does this get fixed.

I noticed this when I checked how long my officer had left and it said 5 min. So, I sailed around until he expired and stopped working. I then checked again and he still showed as 5 min until he expired and was still showing as active, but of course, he wasn't really there.

Since the place where you assign them and the place where you see their expiry are not the same place, I never put this together before.

I hope that helps with fixing the problem.
