Current Server Problems

Ahoy Pirates,

The team has been working very hard to try and fix the current critical server problems in Seafight. Today we will sync a temporary fix which should hopefully resolve the Congestion Error problem that many of you are experiencing, however this might bring back some of the lagging we had before the lagging-fix a couple of weeks ago. One of the main reason for the problems we have been experiencing is due to the amount of players being sunk (possibly from the Typhon which causes a great amount of damage). This was the reason for us reducing the amount of damage and frequency of the Typhon.

However, this is not the only reason and therefore we have decided to come up with a fix which should prevent this from occurring in the future. Therefore, next week we plan to introduce a new system for when you are sunk so that you spawn on a separate map and are given a couple of options – to either return to the main sea chart or log-out of the sea chart completely. This change should greatly reduce the load on the servers allowing us to once again reduce the lagging in the game as well as keeping the fix for the Congestion Error.

We greatly apologise for all of the problems this has caused and have therefore decided to release several compensation voucher codes over the next week. Each voucher code will only be valid for 2 days after is has been posted in the forum so make sure you keep checking back each day so you don’t miss out!
