Dodge Hit Chance vs Damage Prevention

    Ahoy Pirates,

There have been some questions about the differences between Dodge Hit Chance and Damage Prevention so here is a short explanation.

Dodge Hit Chance = a % reduction of your opponent’s hit chance against you. For example, with a 5% Dodge Hit Chance booster activated you could reduce your enemy’s hit chance from, for example, 100% to 95%.

Damage Prevention = a fixed % reduction of the cannon damage caused by your enemy against you. For example, if your enemy has a level 15 Ruby gem (which would normally cause 15% damage), with a 5% Damage Prevention booster your opponent would effectively only cause 10% damage against you (equivalent to a level 10 Ruby gem).

Many of the old pets have a Dodge Hit Chance bonus, but the new Bjorgold pet, for example, has a Damage Prevention bonus.
