Any decent chance that the Developers will finally :mad:get around to making it where every player has to use a ship name that can be spied? That means: no special characters and other deceit allowed that makes the Spy unusable:(? It sure would be nice and is long, long, long overdue! Hey - this can be a New Years Resolution!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

It has been stated before by the team that due to a change in policy back in 2016 or so it is no longer against the rules to use special characters. It is an issue that is irritating but the team is still working to resolve the spy issue and you can always use the player ID# to spy them.

I remember a Forum posting long ago that mentioned everyone going to a Unicode name (I think). I got the impression that the problem was being addressed. I guess I misunderstood.
That said, it is hard to get a player ID from a special-character boat name unless you see the player again after they sink you and take a Screenshot and keep it. I could load up a desktop folder pretty quickly doing this, and sometimes you see these people only randomly. Also, my keyboard is under an overhang on my desk, so it is not easy to quickly hit the "PrtScn" key. In my opinion, it is just not a practical solution. But thanks Tex. I appreciate both your time and trying to help me.
