FAQ - Open Beta Test - Ragnarok

    How to access The Ragnarok?

Players can access the expansion for the first time via a questline available in the 4th Safe Haven(speak to Cassandra).

The introductory quest teases new enemies, lore, and rewards and grants the Ragnarok Haven Teleporter, which allows teleportation to the player's personal expansion map (Divine Haven).

A follow-up quest requires players to use the teleporter and reach their personal map.

On the personal map, players receive onboarding quests that introduce new cannon mechanics, unique enemies, and the expansion currencies.

After completing these intro quests, players can choose a God by completing one of three quests.

Choosing a God grants a Map Progression Item to unlock the first Ragnarok map.
    Entering Ragnarok

After unlocking the Ragnarok Haven Teleporter, players can re-enter the expansion map at any time.

Players may also enter Ragnarok directly through neighbouring maps, but only if they have enough progression keys.
    Leaving Ragnarok

Players leave the personal map and return to the map they were in previously (for the first scenario this is the Safe Haven, e.g., SH4).

You can also leave via neighbouring SH4, or other neighbouring maps you have unlocked.
    Three God Choice - Quests

Inside your personal Ragnarok map you'll find the Three God Choice Quests, short questlines that let you pick which divine ally (Freya, Loki or Njord) will walk with you through the expansion.

These quests appear inside the personal map and reset each time the boss is killed, so after a boss fight you can run them again and pick (or change) your god if you wish.

The Companion System gives you one active God companion at a time. When you choose a God via those quests, that God becomes your exclusive companion across all Ragnarok maps and supports you with a set of unique abilities tied to its path.

In practice this means you can only have one chosen God active at once, its benefits follow you through the expansion, and the choice can be revisited after each boss reset.
    Gods Abilities

Each God brings a distinct set of abilities that shape how your Companion supports you in Ragnarök.
    • Freya’s kit focuses on vicious, blood-themed effects:
      • Blood Mark, Retribution, Blood Frenzy, Pact of Mercy and Pact of Fury.
    • Loki’s abilities lean into trickery and chaos:
      • Infernal Mines, Chaos Lazer, Curse of Diminution, Serpent Illusion and Reflective Betrayal create unpredictable battlefield control and deception.
    • Njord skills are the following:
      • Battle Instinct, Hypnotic Call, Depth's Embrace, Cracked Aura and Silent Skjold.
To improve any of these abilities you must interact with the Loki as Thor character, this is where you spend your progression resources to level up the powers granted by your chosen God.

Upgrades make abilities stronger (and usually more expensive as you raise their level), so plan which skills you want to focus on and use the Notice Board to shape your Companion to your preferred playstyle.
    God Progression

When you begin the god progression, you first choose a God companion that represents the divine path you want to follow.

This Companion is an NPC that cannot be killed, accompanies your character, and unlocks a dedicated questline tied to that God.

Each God offers a distinct set of five unique abilities, all five are available from the start, so you can immediately plan how you want to build your Companion.

To improve an ability you spend God Points, these are the resource you accumulate to upgrade the Companion’s powers.

Every ability can be leveled up to a maximum of level 5, and each upgrade costs God Points, the price goes up as the ability’s level increases.

Note that progression is cyclical: each cycle begins from scratch, so you’ll plan upgrades knowing you can replay a God’s storyline later and experiment with different combinations of abilities.

God Points are the progression resource you earn while playing in the Ragnarok region, mainly by completing quests and defeating NPCs or monsters there.

You use God Points in the Companion UI to upgrade your chosen God’s abilities; points are spent and removed from your total the moment you apply an upgrade.

Plan your upgrades carefully, since each purchase consumes God Points and you’ll need to earn more through further exploration and fights in Ragnarok.
