Gems

Does anyone have any suggestions as to set up of ship special gems?
Do you have multiple ships set up?
For instance, when to use 3% against NPC, 50% Battle Point and 1000 Elite Ammo. Also, how are you pairing the other gems with the special gem. I find it difficult to keep switching skins so I'm curious how other players work this.

 

For me, it's a choice of what your doing at the moment or what your going to do, for example if you are helping a team mate level up then perhaps a harpoon gem with the harpoon set up on your ship then basically fill the empty gem slots with what you know will also help, a cannon damage gem for npc's you know he/she will have, perhaps a dodge change or damage prevention gem. I have 3 basic presets I use as no doubt many others have more, but I have presets for basic stuff, shiny hunting/killing Lucia's or kiribatis (any npc), I have one for fighting and the lastly for scrolls. I would recommend though that the player be careful in the gem set up becuz it's free to place a gem into a slot but will cost a player pearls to remove a gem. Do your planning on a sheet of paper beforehand and when you have it right then place those gems accordingly. Hope this helps.

 

Thanks Challenger - yea it gets tricky moving gems around and setting them up so that the ship remains equal except for the special gem. I have varying levels of offensive/defensive gems. Its hard to decide between the special one in some cases, e.g. 5% pvp or 50% bp.
