What is a homing mine?

To the best of my knowledge this item causes 100,000 damage to NPC-s.

 

From the information we have so far, without using one myself, they deal 100k HP to every NPC around you, similar to a Voodoo Bomb. There is also the Contact Mine due to be released soon that does the same but to players as far as we can tell at this point.

The Homing mine is an area damage item that does a fixed amount of damage of 100.000 in a zone that is shared between all the NPCs within the zone. This is similar to the Fire Bomb in the 11th Birthday Group Map
It can only used against NPCs.

 

Ah, so the damage is shared amongst these NPCs? Doesn't that make is relatively useless as there are players who hit more than this on NPCs with a standard shot anyway? I hit 98k with Flares with 356 Cannons.

Does it makes sense? That´s up to you...
I think they could be really useful in some situations.

 

so in essence the item is totally useless?? unless you are a small boat?

 

The only way I see them being useful would be when going for faster times on mini games, like in this event, but for a payment item they seem really poor to me...

 

i believe theses item`s were on the beta server awhile ago ...Homing mine 100.000 to npc`s and the Contact Mine 100.000 to players as destruction stated above the damage is shared to either npcs around or in the case of the Contact Mine to players near the damage zone .

 

Aye, a little annoying that its not 100k to everything like the voodoo bomb does. Those pesky island ships wouldn't be lasting long after a couple of Contact Mines get thrown down!
