Can anyone give me instructions on how to improve my ship from A-Z, I mean what skills should I get in order? which castle should I start with? and how to use my crystals, pearls, crowns in good way.

    Thanks in advance.

Okay I will give it a go.
First off two main pages for knowledge of prices:
    https://board-en.seafight.com/threads/skill-points-crystal-cost.1730/
    https://board-en.seafight.com/threads/ship-castles.1976/

I think the first castle slot to purchase is Cannon Reloader - not because it's the most important module but because the first level is a 1 second reduction in loading time - Which is very significant. This will have a total price of 17,500 pearls. For 17,500 pearls you can get the first 4 skill points - which has little significance. So I would actually purchase cannon reloader lvl 1 as the very first thing. 2) I would buy 19 skill points and get 6/6 Explosive Alchemy and 6/6 Oguon's Wrath (31% extra dmg boost. ***!). 3) Return to skills and focus on topcastle (the most important castle). I would start with Astrolab since you're probably lacking hit probability, then Gunpowder Flask. 4) After this point I would just mix it up between skills and castles as I go. For skills I would focus on Agwe's Path and don't underestimate Swift Remedy while Agwe's Armor and Agwe's Aim are the obvious choices. For Castles I would generally rank them as follows for a noob:

    1) Astrolab (hit %)
    2) Gunpowder Flask (dmg)
    3) Cannon Reloader (reload speed)
    4) Adamantine Hull (dmg prevention)
    6) Carpentry Expertise (repair)
    7) Ferocious Bookkeeper (dmg with pearl ammo)
    5) Voodoo Dodge (dodge chance)
    8) Sternpost (speed)
    9) Centerboard (speed)
    10) Shipwright's Schematics for lvl 6 (extra sail)
    11) Wildfire (flare Dot)
    12) Military Expert (crit dmg)
    13) Maintenance Crew (bad repair boost)

Some people would prioritize speed a little higher and some wildfire a bit higher. Both speed and Wilfire are nice. But you won't use flares in mass until lategame and the DoT boost is actually not that amazing - maybe 1.8% increase to flare dmg on average each level, while speed is nice and gives a indirect profit boost, but I think it's not enough. If your main pearl farm method is glitters you could prioritize speed a little higher than I have. You will want to max out skills as the very last thing since skill points generally have sharply decreasing marginal value and sharply increasing marginal price. When you have full castle you will optimally have 50 skill points or something like that.

It will make sence as you go when to upgrade castles and when to unlock new. Just compare prices.

The following article which I wrote and explained to another player hopefully will shed light on the castle/skill setup for you.

I agree with what everyone has said in the above threads but ultimately it's you and what you want to do with your ship. Over the past years this same question is asked and answered, but keep in mind, once you decide on which castle to get you cannot undo them as you can with skills.
The first two castles anyone should get is Cannon Reloader and Gunpowder flask. These two critical castles are what I recommend to every new player and someone such as yourself. The following castles not in any order are important Carpentry, Astrolab, Reinforced Hull and Adamantine, Centerboard, Sternpost, Cannon storage, Maintenance crew, Cleansing team, Shipwrights schematics, Poisoners Lab and the last two which are practically useless without the other, Rocketmaster and Wildfire.
Now, I know most will say there is nothing in critical hits but that is a personal preference if you like stats. I didn't mention any castle in the Voodoo area either, because those are individual preference as well.
Those castles I did mention are most of the castles to get a boat going and keep it on the water for awhile until you can dial in your castle preferences to coincide with any skills you have. You mentioned harpoons, keep in mind with what I said in the last sentence, if you no skills in harpoons don't spend pearls in castles for a few meager points.
It go's without saying upgrade those castles especially during castle days but upgrade them to max ASAP.

    Hope this helps.

Now, you wanted to know about skills, skills are bought with crystals which as the more you get the higher the cost will be so, be mindful of what exactly you want to do with your ship, farm or fight or a combo of both. If you are concerned more of hitting power then I would say leave everything that deals with harpoons with the very minimum requirement in order to proceed. If you are wanting to farm then You want to fill the Legba pathway with crystals for it deals mainly with farming more so than the Agwe or Ogoun paths.

Lets discuss speed for a second. most if not all higher level players have a top speed of 900 to 1000 speed on their ship and they have range on the cannons, what I'm saying is this they gonna get ya anyways so why waste precious skills on speed when It can be used in other areas.

The nice thing about skills is during talent days resetting your skill tree will cost you nothing but at any other time will cost 100 crystals.

Good luck and do read all of the tutorial tips listed within the forum for additional information.
