During this outage there was no way to get to the forums to see your announcement about it because we couldn't even login to the main SF page (or to the Client). There was no info about it on your FB page.

I've seen posts on here previously where someone is not able to login to the main page, yet they are able to post a thread to the forum. Most recent was the thread about this outage:
    White frontpage

How can this be done? I can't find any place to login directly to the forum, but some people seem to be able to do it. Can someone point me to it?

    Ahoy Bawdyn,

We apologise for the recent disruption to the game.

Sadly, some times attacks of these nature can be very disruptive and as many resources are used to counter them.

As for information regarding this I always suggest getting into the
Seafight Discord as it is the best place to get the most relevant information and updates to the game while also being a great place to report bugs and errors.

With regards to the accessing the forum during this disruption it affected many players/ users differently while some were able to get access to forum or sea chart many were not.

We can not say for certain any methods to 100% give access to the forum but as mentioned by you we will forward feedback regards the Facebook page to be update if future issues arise.

    Please also note that even if you are not logged in, you can still read the forum and the announcements, by entering the URL in your browser;

Aaaaarrrrggggghhh! capt. bawdyn, if me memory serves me correctly ye does not do any of the social medias (fakebook, twatter, miscord...etc, etc) just like me self, I do not run fake representations or digital enhancements! But i do run multiple OS accross me network and have been able to glance at the forums in that manner, especially when the seasnott hits the fan at SF central command. And why is SF not doing any events for the Seahags world cup? its a wonder?

@Rymar - Yes, I know I can read the forum without logging in, but it's not possible to post. Most forums have a Login page where you can log in directly, but I've never found it here. the post I referred to was from someone who said they were getting the white page when trying to login to the front page. If they weren't logged in, how did they post to the forum? I figured there must be some way to do it.

@phatty-Boastrike - You are correct. I avoid social media when possible. Do I know you by another name?

There was a small window where players could login, hence the posts.
Note, once logged in, if you didn't close the seachart and the backpage you could continue to play. It was only the front end authentication that was broken.

    Ahoy Bawdyn!

Your fellow pirate lude1962 is correct some players who could still access the game or who had managed to stay logged in were most likely able to access their forum accounts and post still.

However, this was just by chance, and as such I have no method or idea on how to guarantee or replicate it was merely luck and being in the right place at the right time.

As this should answer your query concerning accessing the forum during outages I shall now close the thread.

We understand that not all players like having all these different methods of gaining information on the game and its state but again I will highly approve of the use of the Seafight Discord, yes it has a wide variety of diversity and community but as I stated its one of the easiest place to see the latest and greatest information and even ask questions and get advice.
