Ogun's Wrath is supposed to increase damage against NCP. I just added to that skill and it doesn't appear to have made any difference to what I hit against NCP. I was expecting to see a couple of hundred more HP with Hollows, but I can't even tell that it changed at all.

Each level adds 2% more damage, but 2% of what exactly? I recall seeing a post that showed where the various damage modifiers were in the damage calculation. That might tell me how much change I should be seeing.

    Thanks.

6/6 provides 14% NPC Damage. That is 14% of your Ammo's damage. So Hollows is 20, 14% of that is 2.8 Damage, per cannon. so 371 cannons would be 1038 extra damage. Keep in mind though that your hits vary by 5% Hit Probability, so your highest hit before the skill could still be more than the lowest hit after you applied the skill. It is working though, that I can say :)

I don't have as many cannons as that (level 20, so no Guardian Crew), but using your calculation I should still see just over 100 HP more on average for the 2% of the skill. However, before the skill I was shooting ~8300-8700 (no shots under or over these values) and after it was the same range.

As a test I switched to a different ship which has 1% less damage gem (both ships over 100% hit prob) and then shot several Esmeralda and the range was ~8250-8650. Not a big difference, but noticeable. Yet, I can't notice the 2% (twice as much as the Gem change).

I remain unconvinced that the skill is working, but thank you for clarifying where in the calculation the skill is.

Another point to add is that the 14% damage from Ogun's Wrath doesn't meant a 14% increase on top your current damage. Your cannon damage boosts such as Gems, Skill, Castle etc are added together individually before multiplying your cannon damage. I'll explain this a little better in the below examples. We will assume you have 50% cannon damage in total before the 14% is added, just to keep the numbers easy, and we will use Hollows for your ammunition.

    CORRECT:-
    20 x (100% + 50% + 14%)
    = 20 x 164%
    = 20 x 1.64
    = 32.8 Damage

    INCORRECT:-
    (20 x (100% + 50%)) x (100% + 14%)
    = (20 x 150%) x 114%
    = (20 x 1.5 x 1.14)
    = 34.2 Damage

If the calculations do not make full sense, the first shows the correct calculation with the damages being added together before multiplying by the base cannonball damage whereas the second shows the incorrect calculation that many players assume is correct, where the 14% is of the total damage already calculated, i.e taking your current hit and multiplying it by 1.14.

I hope this makes sense and helps to further clarify how the skill effects your damage. Now I will let Arky tell us that I'm actually completely wrong...

    Thanks,

@Destruction Thank you for the additional detail on how the calculation works. This matches what I understood fro Arky. It also supports my estimate of just over 100 HP additional for each skill level.

@Beorn This is half answered. I now understand how much it should have changed. I do not see this difference of 100 hp when shooting after adding the skill (I went from 8% to 10%), so I still don't know that the skill is in fact working. Since its a skill that works against NCP only (I don't have the skill for damage against players only) I wonder if it is detecting that I'm shooting an NCP correctly. The only way I can think of to verify this myself is to find a player that has no damage prevention or dodge and shoot them to see if I hit them 10% less than a non-event NCP. I was hoping that there is some way that someone on your end can verify that it is actually working or not.
