    League of Captains MS4

In this milestone for the League of Captains, this update is all about enhancing your gameplay with the new "Captain Commissioning" system, allowing you to recruit captains and empower them with unique skills called Manoeuvres.

These manoeuvres, accessible through commissioning, offer strategic advantages akin to other abilities in the game.

With this exciting addition we have new Captains and new Missions! Your voyage in Milestone 4 promises to be brimming with new challenges, and opportunities for you and your pirate crew.

    What is Captain Commissioning?

The "Captain Commissioning" system empowers players to enhance their performance on the regular sea chart by collaborating with the esteemed League of Captains.

This entails selecting one of the league's captains to accompany players on their voyages.

To commission a captain, you need to go through the onboarding process for each captain.

Once this process is complete, you can commission the captain and access their manoeuvres.

How do I access the "Captain Commissioning" feature?

Captain Commissioning can be found in the League of Captains window.

To gain access to this feature, players need to meet the following prerequisites:

    • Possess at least 1 Captain at Elite Tier or higher.
    • Successfully onboard the chosen captain.
    • Equip the captain through the newly introduced Captain’s Commission tab.
Is it free to commission a captain?

Commissioning a captain is completely free, you can switch between your onboarded captains without needing to pay a price.

However, any progress you have made towards charging a manoeuvre will be reset.

Why should I onboard a captain?

Onboarding captains is a pivotal step that enables captains to be commissioned by players for enhanced manoeuvres.

Once a captain reaches at least Elite tier, they become eligible for onboarding.

This process unlocks the captain's potential to provide special manoeuvres during commissioning.

Is it free to onboard a captain?

All good captains come at a cost; you will have to pay a one-time fee to take them aboard.

You can find the price in-game next to the onboarding button.

How does the manoeuvre slot work during commissioning?

Once onboarded, captains gain a new slot that defines the specific manoeuvre they can offer while commissioned.

This slot will be filled randomly during the onboarding process.

    What exactly are Manoeuvres?

Manoeuvres introduce new activatable abilities that players gain by commissioning captains.

These abilities can significantly enhance your gameplay experience and tactics on the high seas.

Similar to master skills and certain cannon abilities, manoeuvres are charged through various actions and can be used by pressing a button.

How do I obtain Maneuvers for my captains?

Maneuvers are introduced through the following methods:
    • Onboarding a captain: When a captain is onboarded, it will learn a random manoeuvre.
    • Empowering with a "Manoeuvre Handbook": When an onboarded captain is empowered with a "Manoeuvre Handbook" catalyst item active, the manoeuvre will be replaced by a new random one based on the captain's stats.
    • Empowering with another captain: If an onboarded captain is empowered with another captain that already knows a manoeuvre, using the "Command Instructions" catalyst item, there's a chance the manoeuvre from the consumed captain will transfer to the new one.
Can Manoeuvres be replaced or changed?

Yes, manoeuvres can be replaced under specific circumstances:
    • Empowering with "Manoeuvre Handbook": Using this catalyst item can replace the existing manoeuvre with a new random one.
    • Empowering with another captain using "Command Instructions":
      • This process might transfer the manoeuvre from the consumed captain to the empowered one.
What are the basics of Manoeuvrers?

Manoeuvres have specific properties and conditions:
    • Safe Havens: Manoeuvres cannot be used in Safe Havens.
    • Charge Points: Manoeuvres require the charge points to be full before they can be used. The required amount of points and how they are gained can differ depending on the Manoeuvre.
    • Stealth: If you use a Manoeuvre while Stealth is active, this will end your Stealth.
What actions contribute to charging Manoeuvres?

Several actions contribute to charging manoeuvres:
    • Assisting to Kill an NPC
    • Killing NPCs
    • Killing Players
    • Your VP (Voodoo Points) being damaged
    • Your HP (Hit Points) being damaged
    • Killing Monsters
    • Healing
The base stats of your captain influence how quickly they can gain points.

Do my Captains stats effect how quickly they gain points?

Reputation, Luck and Vitality all affect how fast points are gained. Each stat provides a bonus for a specific type of action:
    • Reputation: Modifies the amount of points gained by Player Kill, Player Damage and Healing.
    • Luck: Modifies the number of points gained by Assisting to Kill an NPC, Killing an NPC, and Monster Kills.
    • Vitality: Modifies the number of points gained by your HP and VP being damaged.
What are the new Catalyst items?

The new Catalyst items are designed to enhance manoeuvre-related mechanics.

These items can only be utilized when the empowered captain is already onboarded.

Can you tell me about the "Manoeuvre Handbook" catalyst item?

The "Manoeuvre Handbook" is a catalyst item that re-rolls the manoeuvre of a captain when they are empowered.

It selects from all available manoeuvres for that captain at the time of empowering.

What does the "Command Instructions" catalyst item do?

To use it, both captains involved must be onboarded.

This item has a chance to override the manoeuvre of the empowered captain with the one that is sacrificed.

    There are two versions:

    • "Unclear Instruction Manual": 80% chance to override, 20% chance to not work.
    • "Perfect Instruction Manual": 100% chance to override.
What does the Manoeuvre Guide catalyst items do?

When used during empowering, it provides the empowered captain with the manoeuvre listed on the item.

This item offers a fresh strategic element to manoeuvre selection.

    How many Manoeuvres are available?

Currently eight manoeuvres are available for your Captains.

What does the "Adrenaline Rush" manoeuvre do?

The "Adrenaline Rush" manoeuvre grants a buff to the user that lasts for a short amount of time.

This buff provides improves your Critical Damage, Speed and your Critical Dodge Chance.

What does the "Grand Opening Shot" manoeuvre do?

The "Grand Opening Shot" manoeuvre applies a debuff to the target that reduces its Max HP by a set percentage.

It's important to note that health will not automatically be healed when the Max HP returns to normal.

However, the debuff has a limit for the amount of Hitpoints and Voodoo Points that can be removed.

How does the "Gunpowder Rush" manoeuvre work?

The "Gunpowder Rush" manoeuvre grants the player a buff for a short time that increases their speed.

When the buff expires, an area-of-effect (AoE) is triggered around the player, damaging all entities within the AoE, including the player who activated the manoeuvre.

What does the "Full Metal Anchor" manoeuvre offer?

The "Full Metal Anchor" manoeuvre provides a buff that stops the player for a short time, preventing movement but still allows the use of action items and the ability to attack.

During this time, all incoming damage is greatly reduced, enhancing the player's survivability.

How does the "Shields Up!" manoeuvre function?

The "Shields Up!" manoeuvre grants the player three stacks of a unique shield buff that lasts for a maximum of 30 seconds.

This shield buff nullifies damage, with each instance of damage consuming one stack.

While incredibly potent, it's important to consider that damage-over-time effects and torpedoes can quickly destroy this shield.

Can you explain the mechanics of the "Voodoo Storm" manoeuvre?

The "Voodoo Storm" manoeuvre applies an effect to the user, continuously inflicting damage upon the user's VP (Voodoo Points).

This effect persists until the user's VP is depleted.

Additionally, an AoE is spawned around the user, applying a debuff that inflicts DoT (damage over time) and decreases Damage Prevention by 10%.

How does the "Voodoo Purification" manoeuvre work?

The "Voodoo Purification" manoeuvre has a unique cleansing effect. It ends all debuffs currently applied to the player and restores VP.

The restoration of VP is proportional to the number of debuffs that were cleansed.

Can you explain the concept of the "Shield Wall" manoeuvre?

The "Shield Wall" manoeuvre creates an AoE (area-of-effect) around the player that gradually becomes smaller.

Players inside this zone receive increased PvP Damage, PvP Damage Prevention and Damage Prevention.
