Legaue of Captains - Promotion

I just promoted my first Captain, but all his value were resettet, so he now is back to be lvl 1 with nil experience and and all values back to start values? Is it supposed to be so?

I thought promoting your Captain would increase his level/values, not making it worse?

Is it something I have misunderstood or is this a bug?

 

I mentioned the same thing and was told that the captains have teers...so when you promote, it goes back to lvl 1, but is at the next teer. My ongoing question about this is where the heck do you see the teer level of your captain. It seems that the mods only answer half of the question.

 

Hey mates! This may be of no help (and you both may already know this), but look at these 4 screenshots and then my comments at the bottom:









First screenshot: Five tiers; first tier has "no glow" (and can do "no glow" missions); second tier has "green glow" (and can do both "no glow" and "green glow" missions (but has to have "Vitality = 150+ to do the "green glow" missions); then "blue glow", "purple glow", and "orange glow" respectively. The higher your tier, the higher the "Vitality" number must be (plus the missions take a lot longer to complete). Therefore, for each individual tier, the captain starts at 1 and ends at 10, and then - only at level 10 - he/she can be promoted if he/she meets the other criteria listed (like you have to have an orb, enough escudos, etc.). One question I have: When they are promoted up a tier, my understanding is that they lose all of his/her equipment. So if you could strip off some of the equipment before the promotion and *still* meet the requirements, that might be a smart move (I have not tried this yet).

Second screenshot: The captains level is at the bottom, so with 5 tiers, you would have to go 1-10 per tier times 5 levels = 50 tiers to max one captain out (Tier 5, Level 10, "orange glow"). Then he/she could do any mission offered, if they met the escudos requirements, etc. (The mission might take him 18 hours to complete for all I know, so the rewards had better be super at that point, and they appear to fall well short of being even close to "fantastic"). <--(Just from clicking on say the "blue missions" and viewing the rewards, and "potential rewards").

Third screenshot: My captain Brandar Avantini is Tier 1 ("Outcast" - with "no glow") at Level 10. (Hover your mouse over him to see Tier, Level, and Experience).

Fourth screenshot: My captain Dagger Winston is Tier 2 ("Harmless" - with "green glow") at Level 2.

And Sea-Sea: When you go up a tier - say to "tier 2" for example, he has to be re-equipped with the 4 types of equipment *and at that same level* <-- (in this case, the equipment has to be upgraded to a green glow for you to be able to place it on him). Then he kind of "starts over" and builds up his Reputation, Luck, and Vitality.
I hope at least some of this helps! If anyone wants to add information, correct me, or whatever, feel free to do so. But I will say that based on what I have seen, this is probably going to get incredibly expensive in $$$, and I doubt the rewards - even at Tier 5 - will be worth the cost!

P.S. Hold everything! I just saw in the In-game shop (for the second time) where if you click "Special Offers" you can get 25 Captain's Chests for 100 gold! NICE!
