New %5 NPC Special Damage Gem

I have 445 cannon slot, and for my npc ship and preset i have 23 level cannon damage and 24 level critical damage gems. Besides In my pet I dont use any gem that affects my hits. Now the problem occurs. I hit without the npc %5 gem between 138-142k with flares without counting DOT. I put the npc damage gem but nothing literally changes. To my understanding %5 is very important amount and it should be seenable when i wear it. I understand that it will not be counted from 138-142k since its altered with the gems i have. But without any gem or any other additives i should be hitting around at least 100k and when i wear the %5 npc gem i should at least see 4-5k difference. Am I counting something wrong?

The damage calculation has a variance in damage for every cannon depending on hit chance and other damage modifiers. So it is not so easy to see the impact this has on your total damage.

On average, your damage should increase by about 1,500 if you are using the Moonstone Special Gem when attacking NPC's.

Please be aware that the damage calculations are regularly checked by the programmers and we are informed that this is working as designed.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it needed to give more seenable effect l will keep using my damage protection special gem. I think its the best suit so far for the npc preset
