New "General Discussion Forum For Players"

I don't think that I am the only one missing a general discussion forum room for players, where players can speak freely about all game related matters without the thread is censored or closed by MOD's

As it is now, only MOD's can decide what to discuss as only MOD's can make new threads in the current "General Discussion Forum" and if a discussion is started anywhere else on the forum, the thread gets closed by the MOD's pretty soon.

So my suggestion is:

1. Make a new "Players General Discussion Room" on the Forum.
2. Players should be able to speak freely about all game related topics incl. criticism of BP/SF without fearing to be censored, as long as they do use a proper language and do not name any specific players/guilds by name if accusing other players/guilds for illegal behavior (booting etc.)
3. The only one who can close a thread, should be the player, who started the thread, not even MOD's should be able to close a thread without the thread starter's consent.

This is how it normally works in a democratic society, where the freedom off speak is one of the fundamentals.

 

While I agree to an extent, you know that players will start naming players in connection with running illegal programs etc, and if this is permitted to go on, then the company can be held liable for allowing it to be posted on an open forum. This puts increasing tasks on the moderators, and I believe that this is why it's never been implemented.

You may be a reasonably inteligent person, with valid points for discussion, however I am sure you will agree that many are not and just wish to troll and flame people and situations.

Discussion threads only become ranting threads. Without a proper forum to discuss and recieve feedback from the community managers and development team, I feel it's actually pointless. This is what is actually needed, so think your suggestion needs a little tweeking. I don't think it is beyond reasonableness for the community managers and developers to each devote and hour or two of their time per week to the players that are actually lining their and the companies pockets.

I don't think there would be any harm in posting Ideas in this section of the forum, which if you have read have often been left open for player discussion. I do think however that there should be a place for open discussion on features where are already implemented in the game, the reasons why players like or dislike them and suggestions on improvement. I will again state however without feedback from those that can actually make the changes the posts will be come obsolete and closed.

 

There is a forum in the archive section that, from its name, would seem like it was the place for player discussion. A look at the topics in there seems to support that to a certain extent... until it seems to have been taken over by a series of threads complaining about chat bans. But now its 'archived' and everything closed.
