The "Path to the Beast" event offers the following:

    • The return of several event bosses
    • New groups map with different player roles
    • New group finder queue
    • Three new single player mini games
    • Hiring helper ships for single player mini games
    • New event quests!
    • Old ship designs, pets, buffs, etc. available on the Black Market

    Questions and Answers

Which ammo inflicts more damage to NPCs?

Explosive ammo inflicts additional damage to all event NPCs. It can be bought throughout the event on the Black Market. Furthermore, certain types of ammo will cause additional damage, depending on which mini game you are playing or whether you are located on the group map. Further information on which types of ammunition inflict more damage can be found in the corresponding section in the FAQ.

How can I access the single player mini games?

In order to access the single player mini games, you will require the Ancient Emblems, which you can receive piece for piece from the event NPC Falcon as well as by completing event quests. In the case of Goliath, players who have inflicted the most damage or ended the last round receive Ancient Emblems. In addition, you might also be able to salvage Ancient Emblems from shipwrecks.

The event NPCs Goliath, Falcon and Admiral Smith are located on all PvP maps.
Goliath can only be attacked with gold ammo, whereas Falcon and Admiral Smith can be attacked with elite ammo. Admiral Smith will only show up on the sea chart once enough Goliaths and Falcons have been sunk. The player who has inflicted the most damage as well as the player who ended the last round shall each be given a Plato's coin by Admiral Smith. Other players must have caused at least 10% damage to Admiral Smith in order to be given a Plato's coin.

As soon as you have enough Ancient Emblems, you can access the mini games and will be able to try to win cursed souls and magic emblems. You need these magic emblems in order to access the groups map. The more often you play a certain mini game, the more emblems it will cost you. At 23:59 p.m. the number of tickets required for a certain mini game will be reset.

What awaits you in the single player mini game?

As soon as you have enough Ancient Emblems, you can play the game of your choice by looking for Norton Maxwell in one of the Safe Havens. There are three mini games, each with a training version and a normal version.

    Training

The training version is intended for practice and no emblems are required. However, you won't receive any rewards either for this mini game version.

    Normal

With the Ancient Emblems, you can access the normal version of the mini game. In order to collect souls, you need to achieve the result of "acceptable", "outstanding" or "perfect". The better your final results are in the mini games, the more cursed souls you win. "Perfect" rounds even make it into the ranking.

And the three single player mini games are:

    Ogygia (Calypso)

As soon as you select this game, you will be brought to the Ogygia map.

In this game, the Sirens and Calypso engage in a fierce fight. The objective here is to support the Sirens with your fleet of ships and destroy Calypso. WARNING! If a Siren is defeated, you lose the mini game and will be teleported back to the normal sea chart without a reward! Calypso is surrounded by four tentacles, which form defense zones that significantly reduce the damage you cause to Calypso. The tentacles are not tame, which means that they will attack you as soon as you are within their attack range.

After a while, the Sirens will summon a little helper called Undine, who is surrounded by a damage zone that can inflict massive damage to the tentacles as soon as a tentacle gets close to this zone. Undine will disappear every now and again and then reappear. You should pay attention to how you can best use Undine to sink all tentacles as fast as possible.

On this mini map, you inflict more damage to enemy NPCs with Heartbreaker Ammunition.

As soon as all tentacles have been sunk, Calypso will attack you once again.

This mini game can of course be completed with the help of hired helper ships.

Two options are available to you here:

Two helper ships help you: (Plato's coins)

    Helper ship 1 heals Sirens
Helper ship 2 provides you with a hit probability buff

One helper ship helps you: (Solon's coins)

    Helper ship 1 heals Sirens

    Gantril's Lair (Gantril)

As soon as you select this game, you will be brought to the Gantril's Lair map.

In this mini game, you will see the infamous boss Gantril once again. The objective here is to sink Gantril. After surfacing, Gantril summons his helper Embla.

After a while, Embla conjure up another mini Embla – and then another one each, which then creates another defense zone.

You should sink the emerging Emblas as quickly as possible. Gantril will take a dive every now and then.

On this mini map, you inflict more damage to all enemy NPCs with Pumpkin Ammunition.

This mini game can of course be completed with the help of hired helper ships.

Two options are available to you here:

Helper ships can be hired with Plato's coins:

Helper ships 1 and 2 have to be freed from traps
Helper ship 1 sinks all Embla immediately.
Helper ship 2 helps you and helper 1.

Helper ships can be hired with Solon's coins:

Helper ships 1 and 2 have to be freed from traps.
Helper 1 needs more time to sink the Embla. You also have to help out from time to time.
The healing effect of helper ship 2 is lower

NOTE: The more helpers you hire, the greater this will influence your final result.

    Hildisvini's Ice Cage (Hildisvini)

As soon as you select this game, you will be brought to the Hildisvini's Ice Cage (Hildisvini) map.

In this mini game, you will see the infamous boss once again. This time, however, he will try to confuse you by playing psychological tricks on you. As soon as you enter the map, you will see Hildisvini on a neutral ice floe in the middle of the map.

If you inflict enough damage to Hildisvini, he will seek a spot on a random ice floe of an element (wind (yellow), water (blue), earth (green), fire (red)). You will find out which ice floe Hildisvini will appear on by keeping an eye out for the icy cloud of dust or by following the sounds in the game.

You should then sink the Bjorgolds of the respective elements in the right order. The Bjorgolds will show you which elements they belong to.

As soon Hildisvini begins his little game, you won't be able to attack any more and a zone will appear beneath him informing you of this.

When Hildisvini is in "game mode", he also can't be stunned (e.g. with smoke bombs). If you sink Bjorgolds in the wrong order, Hildisvini will attack you and the game will restart.

If you sink Bjorgolds in the right order, the zone underneath Hildisvini will disappear and you can launch an attack on Hildisvini again. During the attack phase, Hildisvini will attack you. After a certain number of hit points, Hildisvini will start a new game phase. A new element will be added to the order per phase.

On this mini map, you inflict more damage to all enemy NPCs with Snow Ammunition.

This mini game can of course be completed with the help of hired helper ships.

Two options are available to you here:

The helper ship can be hired with Solon's coins:

Jörmungander shows you the correct order of the Bjorgolds and helps you to defeat them.

Helper ships can be hired with Plato's coins:

Jörmungander shows you the correct order of the Bjorgolds and helps you to defeat them.
Hugin creates a damage prevention zone and helps you and Jörmungander to attack Hildisvini.

Note: Depending on which helper option you choose, the more your final results will be influenced by this.

What is the groups map and how does it work?

Teamwork is required on the groups map: The objective here is to form a group of at least five group members in order to defeat the boss Nesaia.

You can get to the groups map by talking to Norton Maxwell in the Safe Haven. From there you can enter the groups map with your current group, as long as all group members meet the requirements.

You can also register alone and then use the group finder queue. Players, who have signed up for the queue automatically form groups for the groups map. Every player assumes a role in the group. The role is shown to every player in a group overview.

Even if you could select the roles, the following roles are automatically distributed:

    1 tank (defender)
    1 healer
    3 players as "damage dealers"

There can also be two tanks or one healer. There are more roles than required players, so that you can pick your favorite option yourself.

Should you register alone, you can select which role you'd like to assume.

After the groups map has been completed (Nesaia has been sunk), every player will receive the same payout.

I was assigned to a group and we are on the boss group map. How do we proceed?

The objective is to have the group work together and sink the boss Nesaia as a team.

The "tank" is the center of attention here and should try to draw the attention of all NPCs to itself, so that all other attackers can easily defeat them. But beware: the more damage an attacker inflicts, the more likely it is to draw attention to itself.

As healers, you should try to keep the tanks from being destroyed – good luck!
Whoever is the center of attention will be exposed to massive damage and will also have to deal with the damage zone which Nesaia conjures up, which causes additional damage. Because the tank has an "Aggro" bonus, it should always hold Nesaia's full attention.

Nesaia summons eggwrecks on the groups map at specific time intervals.
Eggwrecks have to be attacked with regular ammo (not harpoons). If you sink eggwrecks fast enough, there's a chance that a helper ship will appear and attack Nesaia.

If the eggwrecks aren't sunk fast enough, Snapjaws will hatch and will hungrily attack the healers.

Once all the Snapjaws have been taken care of, helper ships will shoot at eggwrecks. There's a chance here that another helper ship will appear.

On the groups map, you inflict more damage to enemy NPCs with Shell Shock ammo.

The helper ships disappear after a certain period of time. The group map is first completed when Nesaia has been defeated. Should a player leave the group map too early, no "replacement" player will appear.

What else awaits me on the seas of Seafight?

During the event, there will of course be event chests and shipwrecks for you to find on the sea chart. You can salvage crystals, heartbreaker ammunition, Agwe amulets, snow ammunition and much more from inside the crates! In addition, you have a chance to find Solon's coins in event chests. If you sink shipwrecks, you'll receive crystals, explosive ammunition, gems, plus much more! Shipwrecks and event chests can be found on all PvP maps.

Is there a quest-giver during this event?

Yes, there is a quest-giver – Roger Flynt! There are seven special quests for you during the event. Every quest completed is rewarded. The quest-givers can be found in the Safe Haven!

There is a series of quests consisting of six quests, which you must complete consecutively. The sixth quest can then be repeated every eight hours.
Furthermore, there is another quest which you can complete once a day.

Which rewards do I receive for the event ranking?

There are four rankings – three daily rankings for the single player mini games and a total event ranking for the groups map. The player, who completes the mini game or the groups map the fastest, wins.

Daily rankings (single player mini maps):

1st place: 2x Firestorm cannons, 75x Radiant souls

Following up on the feedback we got from some of you, here is some additional information on the current event.

First of all, some of the players are saying that the event difficulty is too hard. The Game Designers said that this is rather intentional. The event is meant to be challenging. But they also said that they will look at the rewards and the balancing in general and make some changes.

On the topic of event ammunition availability: I read that some find it weird that some event ammo seems only to be available through Payment. This is not quite the case. About 80% of the chests contain event ammo!

    Also you can get

    · 1 main which is effective against any NPC -> in black market

    · 3 for mini games -> random loot in NPC and mini games

    · 1 for the group map -> random drop in mini games

    · 4 special ammos in one payment package

The chest keys are more expensive but the contents of the chests have been beefed up and the keys will, after the event has ended, exchanged at a 5:1 ratio. That means that the keys are worth a lot more!

Also there is the question of what happens to the Emblems after a player leaves the group window. It does look like the emblems are disappearing. But while the emblems are subtracted, you can re-enter the queue “for free” as long as you have not logged out or finished the map. This means: if you re-open the group finder, you do not have to pay the fee again.

Also the FAQ part “Hildisvini is a bit misleading. The players do NOT have to sink the Björgold! It is sufficient to hit them ONCE! This was not entirely clear when the FAQ was written.

Map costs & Emblems: To clear up any misunderstanding what the Ancient Emblems and Magical Emblems are for:

    Boss Map Prices

For each map, the prices to enter the map increase for every try:
Map played Cost in Ancient Emblems

    1. 1

    2. 3

    3. 5

    4. 7

    5. 9

    6. 11

    7. 13

    8. 15

    9. 17

    10. 19

    every additional try +2

The Group Map always costs 3 Magical Emblems

Concerning the event ranking: Please note that if you are using a helper you cannot finish the map with a “Perfect” rating and thus do not appear in the ranking.

The Event ends tomorrow. The black market will stay for 3 more days, until 6th of September, 23:59 LST.

So at the next day on 7th September at 12 noon, after the Black Market has closed, the Cursed & Radiant Souls will be exchanged for Heartbreaker ammo at a ratio of 1 cursed soul for 50 Heartbreaker cannonballs and 1 radiant soul for 200 Heartbreaker cannonballs.

Event Keys will be changed at a ratio of 1:5 for Treasure Chest Keys.

The Event Coins/Emblems will just disappear, no exchange there.
