Primeval Marauder.

I was sitting still shooting this npc and it was inside an island. I am unguilded and shot it for some period of time, then suddenly the island attacked me and sank me. It continued to do this. I didn't shoot another player nor the island. Why did it do this?

The island will hit un-guilded players if:

1. You attacked it
2. You used Homing Mine / Contact Mine / Voodoo Mine etc.
3. You used any sort of area damage item / buff
4. You shot / healed guild member​

These are the only options.

Or if a player in the guild or within the alliance of the guild holding the island shoots you. I've had this happen many times.

 

I was justing shooting the npc. Later, after posting my question, the exact same situation happened to me again and the island left me alone. But thank you for the answer....I appreciate it!
