I cannot accept the quest 'Down and Out'. Its greyed out. I have no problems accepting and redeeming the other quest line for the event (Hunt the Hex is my next one and its green). It lists no prerequisites so I don't know why I can't accept it.

    Ahoy,

Are you apart of the Dalton's Armada faction (have positive reputation with this faction)? If so, you will be unable to start and complete this Quest, you would of had a different Quest instead.

Where is there anything about factions and reputation points in the FAQ for this event?

It appears I have reputation points in Regent's Fleet faction which states that the opposer is Dalton's Armada, but that was from a different event. Why would a previous event effect what quests I can do in this event? And why, if this is so, would this info not be in the FAQ?

    Ahoy,

Having looked into this a bit more, I can inform you that the Quest "Down and Out" is in fact a Quest for Phase 2 of the Event. So will not be available until Phase 2 begins.

Regarding the factions and reputation, since these were introduced a long time ago, factions and reputation play a role throughout the game. As an example, if you hard a large amount of Vovoi Reputation you have the chance to get a large additional reward from The Golden Stag that can be found in 30/1.

For this event, if you are part of Jayne Dalton's faction (she is the Quest Giver), you will have a slightly different quest to complete than if you are not - for being on her side! As an example, the first quest could either be Defeat 5 Captain Dawns, or Defeat 4 Captain Dawns, depending on your faction. Do not worry though, if you have to do slightly more this event, in another event your faction will be gain the benefit and will have to do slightly less.

If the quest id for phase 2 then it should not appear until phase 2. Having it there but not active (with no apparent reason for being inactive) just leads to confusion, particularly when it is the first quest in the list. Does this mean that the quest line I am doing for phase 1 will become inactive once phase 2 begins?

Is there a place in the bible that explains how factions from previous events effect future game play? This was completely new information to me.

    Ahoy,

As wrote in the Event FAQ:

1 Quest Giver Jayne Dalton (safe haven) (1 Quest Chain in 2 parts with 2 repeatable quests)
There are 5 Quests (and 1 repeatable) for Phase 1, and 5 Quests (and 1 repeatable) for Phase 2. This is the only information I have on the workings of the Quests.

In regards to the factions, there is currently no where in the Seafight Bible which explains this. We will work on a Factions entry for the SF Bible though and list some of the possible changes in gameplay as a result of being part of a faction, however, we will be unable to list specifics as this is down to the choice of the Game Designers.

Thanks for looking into this and for the info. I look forward to seeing what gets put into the bible about factions.
