RE: Spying

Not only has the Spying capability been relegated to the junk yard of corrupted Game features but the conjunctive Grouping feature is also there. And apparently the font restriction does not apply to all. I was able to spy a player whose name was a cutesy collection of dots, while others with symbols showed as the required font in spy and group but were displayed on the Seachart as the usual symbols and cryptic fonts. It is obviously not in accordance with the T and C prohibition against using glitches to gain game advantage. BUT don't hold your breathe on the Add On Contractors doing anything about it until Youzou finds out. Makes for better game play if you adapt and overcome the useless game features.

I can assure you that the issue with the usernames has not been forgotten. A solution is being looked into in regards to this and it will be implemented as soon as possible.

I would also like to clarify a few of points. The only characters which cannot be spied are those which are not UTF-8 characters. UTF-8 supports over 100,000 characters, this means that a lot of "special characters" or "symbols" are supported and can be spied, however, there are also a lot of special characters which are not UTF-8 and therefore cannot currently be spied.

It is not the fault of the user, that is to say, that they are not taking advantage of a glitch to gain an advantage. This is because they had this name before the Seafight Team made this change, it is not their fault that they cannot be spied but rather ours. It is no longer possible for a user to change their username to a name which cannot be spied.

Please remember that this was just the first step regarding the issues we had previously with usernames and further steps will follow.
