    Reordering of the World Map

    Ahoy Pirates,

Seafight exists since more than 11 years now and during all those years, the Seafight world grew tremendously. It started with some basic PvE and PvP maps and grew with a high amount of different PvP maps from the bottom up. At the moment, safe havens can only be reached on the side edge of the maps and sometimes, it’s pretty far away.

In the future, we like to reorder the world map in a way that makes it more “world” like – which means that we want to group the PvP maps around a safe haven to make sure that the safe haven in the middle can be reached more easily from the different maps.

At the moment, we have 6 different areas in our Seafight world:

    · Normal maps
    · Tropical maps
    · Ice maps
    · Lava maps
    · Commonwealth 1
    · Commonwealth 2

While at the moment, you only have access to safe haven from one special map, you may access and leave safe haven from different maps in the future. Furthermore the traveling time to safe haven is reduced when it’s surrounded by maps of a themed area.

After the reorganization, the structure of the world map looks like the following and can easily be extended with new themed areas in the future:

The upper two Commonwealth areas which are quite new will have a safe haven in the middle that is surrounded with 8 maps like this:

The four themed areas “normal maps”, “tropical maps”, “ice maps” and “lava maps” will be reorganized and structured like the following:

Like you can see in the grid above, this new structure results in a reduction of some maps – this concerns the normal maps, the tropical maps, the ice maps and the lava maps. We will reduce each of the themed areas to 5 maps in the end – and you can choose which maps should stay and which ones should be kicked out. It’s up to you to vote for your favorite maps.

Each safe haven in this new structure will be inhabited by different NPCs. In the first 5 maps (normal maps), there won’t be any guild islands.

Some of the benefits of this new structure for the game and for the players are the following:

    1. Such a reduction of the maps will result in a higher activity on the remaining maps.
    2. We create a faster and easier access to safe haven.
    3. This reorganization will make the game ready for the future and for new maps that might come to the game.

During the next weeks, we will start some polls among the players to let you decide which of the existing maps should stay in the game and which ones are less interesting and can be kicked out.

We will ask you about the different themed areas and the maps that you are wishing for and you can give us feedback on the new structure and participate in the surveys. A poll for each themed area will be published with an overview of the maps very soon. Let’s decide altogether about the new structure of our game.
