  2. Well...I got the genie weapons buff...had 713 cannon and got sunk out of the map three times...eeek! I can only blame myself and losing my lvl 5 trainers.

LOM - no worries buddy! I just went in the Rift Map and fought for 5 1/2 hours and didn't finish. I got this message before being kicked out:
Dear Seafight Player: Please Retake your Pirate Test 1 and Start Completely Over! :D:D:D

  4. Well, at least you have something to do now. :)

  5. Just for a bit of trivia regarding the rift... For finishing the map you get about 500k pearls. I have calculated the resource usage (rift ammo, etc.) to cost about the same, so there isn't any gain for completing it. I got into the habit of doing the rift map just to collect season coins of which the payout pretty good if you can get up to 125 coins for each 5 waves. Since the season is nearly over, there isn't much point in doing it. I would, however, really like to know how players can finish it in less than..let's say..12 minutes. It seems there are more and more times in this range. I was lucky enough to score in the top 50 a few times and get the rift buff for a day. More recently, more and more players are posting faster times than I can even get close to. When I have level 29 gems, level 5 trainers, very close to full cannons, I cannot imagine how it would be possible to do the rift in less than 1/2 the time it usually takes me without running some kind of 'helping' tool. A few players have said it is possible, and support agreed...I just don't see how it would be possible to move that fast. For example, I can sink most of the NPC in the first 25 waves in one or two shots....I NEVER finish these 25 waves in less than 9 minutes which is the times some players are posting to finsh the entire 30 waves. I have a reload time of 1.95. I know it is possible to get the reload time down to 1.5 with full firestorms, but even with that, I cannot see how players can manage these times. I also know that 6 months ago I couldn't finish the map and through experimentation with settings, I can, for the most part, always finish it now. So...obviously, there is always room for improvement.

That is interesting - I did not know the Rift Map paid out 500k in pearls for completion. I just do it for the Rift Coins to buy items like Legba Amulets, and for "Coins of Effort" as you mentioned. I saw a top time yesterday that was like 9 minutes and 28 seconds. Like you, I will "leave open" the possibility that it might be done without "help". But given the Seafight game's "track record", I highly doubt it. (Just like I went at an enemy ship on the Seachart yesterday with my base 800k+ hit points, and he blew me away in one shot before I even reached him? I will always wonder). I personally wish this game could be as close to pure skill as possible. I know there will always be players with faster computers, faster Internet, better gaming mouses and keyboards, etc., and that is totally acceptable. But cheating removes all integrity from the game and makes for a very unlevel playing field.

  7. There is a, what I call, 'super powers' program that allows players to hit harder while taking less damage...I have some screen shots of players hitting me for over 350k while my shots are doing less than 40k...I believe the same program also allows for repairing while being attacked...could be wrong. I have complained repeatedly about this bot and yet I see the same players on the water all the time. Who would guess that some of these same players are always at the top of the monthly league rankings, rift rankings, and event rankings...amazing! They must play 24/7. Drugs or something..right? I got bored today and caculated the hitpoints of each wave in the rift. The first 10 waves are one hit per npc...29 npc in all..so hitting at right around 2 seconds per volley...one minute. waves 11-15 require more shots per npc (for me at least) but the total hp for these 5 waves is 6.4 million. Waves 16-25 have about 70 million hp. 26-30 another 137 million. So...to finish the rift in the 10 minute range would (not counting the first 15 waves) require you to do a little over 20 million hp per minute. Possible? it averages out to be around 700k per hit at 2 seconds reload time or 500k at 1.5 second reload time. My best hits with the genie buff are under 500k. I know there are many players who can blow me away without any 'cheats', so I guess these lower times are possible. It would have to be nearly perfect...somehow avoiding all the 'sleeper' npc that reduce reload times...I imagine with a fully loaded ship...full level 6 cannons (maybe firestorms)...no mistakes...possible.

Have you tried the Rift Map using Marauder ammo during "Marauder Days"? I noticed that one player posted the damage was significantly higher doing that during "Marauder Days". Since both Rift and Marauder ammo are rated at "120", that seemed odd that Rift ammo might not be the best choice during "Marauder Days". Confusing as heck (I thought). But I will say that if someone is willing to spend a fortune on Rift emblems and spend the time to do the Rift Map like 200 times a week, maybe they can hit one of these seemingly impossible low times.
I will also say (I think I did mention this one time before in this Forum) that during my time in one particular guild, our Leader shared with me a screenshot of a "bot template" he obtained (his source was kept anonymous). I believe the source used it; he did not. But need I tell you LOM, the level of sophistication of it (and this was probably at least 2 years ago) totally blew me away! I wish The Mods would let me post it for all to see, just to enlighten honest players as to what they are up against. Alas, I am certain it would be yanked and I would be warned or permanently banned. But I personally do think that honest players have the right to see what I saw. (And my bet is that in a battle of one human against one program, the human gets smoked. I know I cannot react in a millisecond).

  9. At the worst, the mods would simply delete your post....Of course, there are coders out there that can write programs that defeat any limit that is built into the game and when BP tries to do something, they simply change the code. I understand why BP cannot do anything about the scripts, but they could do something about the players who use their cheats to win all the event, season, league, and rift rewards. It would only take looking into what is possible using the game limits. Let them use their bots, but take them off of the reward lists. Bottom line is that nothing will change. This has been going on since Seafight began. The other reality is that very few players read these posts so we are simply complaining to each other. The forum mods read them to make sure we are not doing anything that goes against the 'rules', but they have no power other than to edit our posts. They say that they forward info to the 'hard working developers', but the truth is that if it was forwarded once..they don't send it again.

At least by my griping, I met you and -PUSAT-, and we can commiserate together! P.S. Have you done the Rift Map using Marauder ammo during Marauder Days, and if so, did it lower your times?

I agree Defiant, its nice to share thoughts and comments with good mates, i have not tried the Marauder days, but i sure will remind myself to try it...thats for sure...cheers Mate

  12. I have not done it during marauder events, but I have checked hits with both rift and marauder ammo...normally, rift will hit a bit harder. Next event I will check. I tried again today modifying my settings...added a lantern for hits...made sure to use my sands of time at the appropriate moment...but sill could not break 20 minutes. I had 713 cannons. I seem to be stuck between 20 and 24 minutes no matter what setting I use. Some of it is luck as being hit by npc's with debuffs... I don't know. I think I am going to give it a break for awhile. As I said, there really isn't any benefit..the pearls won are about what you need to spend on ammo. Maybe I will discover something.

I forgot to mention earlier that I was impressed with the calculations you did on the hit points per wave, etc.. It was a perfect demonstration of what the developers should have already done to determine the lowest time possible. They could then - at the *very least* - automatically eliminate all boats with a lower time, knowing they are - without any doubt - cheating. Which goes back to the very point you have correctly made multiple times. And it would at least demonstrate an effort by BP to improve the game's integrity. (I suppose I'll take a break on making my comments now, so that ♥ŚȚŖÄŴBËŖŖŸ♥ doesn't have a stroke reading my gripes).

I get about 19 minutes if I don't get the Armory genie buff and I dont have a great boat 250 lvl 5 worlds and 160 lvl 4 worlds 55 lvl 3 bastion and 140 lvl 2 bastion then lvl 6 pains.. I really don't care what i say on here because I play on a dead server and will finish in the top 10 every week. but my gems are for ship you have to have the plates of armor bonus and then for offense i use cannon damage and critical damage defense i use dmg prevention and extra voodoo points. pets i use amulet bonus critical damage and damage prevention. I know someone said they use dodge, don't use it if you have 93 or 94 damage prevention and use super armor plates you wont get any hp taken off. I do use a faster setup until wave 27 and then switch to the setup i just said so I don't get hit. And yes the marauder ammo does hit harder during marauder days, except certain npcs the rift will hit harder like the admiral npcs. There are certain things you do have to do to shave a litttle time off, amd be willing to use dragonfires. I'm sure I am missing some things to because I play alone and don't go in any ts, just kinda learned as i played. If you have any questions ask and I will try to help. Or if anyone has anything that I could improve on I would be thankful for that too lol

  16. Thanks for the info....I think my cannons are a bit stronger than yours, but my setup is about the same, although I do have dodge gems...I could change that and see. What is your reload time and what is the faster set up you mentioned for 1-26?

No problem I actually just got the armory buff and did it in 18 minutes, I just do it once a week and didnt know what my time was with that buff since i havent had it in a long time. I would get rid of the dodge gems cause they are useless in the rift. My reload time is 1.97 I use 4 lvl 5 ribs then 10 chains of speed. I do get hit some with that cause my dmg prevention is 93.7 but i can survive the last couple waves. My fast setup is all speed chains and then 92 lvl 6 firestorms whatever bastion i have lvl 5 worlds and lvl 6 pains. I actually used my fast setup through lvl 28 and probably could have made lvl 29 with voodoo hoodoo skill thing that gives back voodoo points but didnt wanna risk it. So if you have better cannons you should be able to get around that time, it just takes some getting used to what to use where and when. Hopefully you can improve your time!!

I said I would shut up on this topic but I lied. I used to trade a 500-million dollar bond portfolio, so I like math, puzzles, and challenges to optimize a situation. (I studied "Linear programming", which is where you maximize a profit, minimize cost, etc.). And let's face it: Seafight has thrown so many items out here that it makes for an interesting topic discussing this. By the way, I want to thank pirate BOMBER for his very interesting comments. (I'm retired - but work part-time - so yeah, I may beat this to death)! I got home tonight and thought "I gotta mention to Łé††éяš~öƒ~мåяqµé that I wonder if anyone changes their set-up during the Rift Map"? BOOM! Here comes BOMBER with his comments! (Welcome to our talk, mate)!:) A couple of quick questions--> BOMBER: (1) So you sacrifice your ship's "Hit Probability" gem for the "Critical Hit Damage" gem, or is it the "CH Probability" gem? This is interesting in that like "Dodge", these two parameters (and "Damage" - make that three) - have always been poorly explained. They say you need so much "Hit Probability" for PvP, but too much (depending on your opponent's set-up) is just worthless excess. As to NPC "Dodge", we know it "varies" (especially Event NPCs). But that's all I have ascertained. (2) I also wonder if getting the extra Genie cannons buff might actually be a mistake? What about the "Genie's Aim" (+13% Critical Hit Probability+25% Critical Damage)? That would be an interesting calculation to make. And hey Łé††éяš~öƒ~мåяqµé : (1) when the Rift Map resets, I would closely monitor the times and when you see a super-low time, spy those players and pay 5,000 pearls to see their stats. That may yield some interesting information (if they haven't changed set-ups). and (2) pirate "Whatever" made some salient points in the thread "Reload Times" and mentioned using "recklessness" and going all out on every wave.--> https://prnt.sc/78eroGF_tyq7. The Rift's weakness (to our benefit) is it resets our VP/HP shields every wave. So if you can make it down to almost sunk and survive, as BOMBER and pirate "Whatever" have mentioned (and maybe only use Poseidon's Crowns and Taureau Amulets in "pushing the limits"), that might reduce time as well. (I've also always wondered - and BOMBER's comments on Criticals brings me back to this - if Level 6 Devastators - despite their terrible reload times but 122% crits, could be paired with speed chains and perhaps other cannons to do greater damage to the latter waves of the Rift when the NPCs are the toughest).

I'm Back! Okay - out of curiosity, I just did what I previously suggested. The Leader in the Rift Map has a time of 9 minutes and 27 seconds. I spied him. Look at these stats...jeepers.
