The Rift has been designed to be very very hard, so hard in fact that the majority of players will not be able to complete it. It is supposed to be a challenge which then rewards the players who are able to survive the furthest in the quickest time - something for end game players to compete with should they choose too.

However, regardless of your boat strength, players should be able to earn cannons, crowns and rift coins from The Rift.

I am unable to inform you of the choice of the Game Designers, but that is my personal opinion on the map.

Yeah, so who was it designed for? Obviously not for ALL players. Catering to "Privileged" players is not the best business model, volume works better for revenue enhancement. Meaning those that got, gets, those that don't got don't get. Which is standard for any Seafight game feature that involves a ranking. Best to not bother spinning your wheels trying to advance in any feature that involves ranking. Work on building the best boat you can and ignore rankings, they are only for a select few.

As previously stated, the harder levels of the Rift are designed for end game players. Although the lower levels can be completed by the majority of players, giving them Rift Cannons, Rift Coins and Crowns.

As with all games, there needs to be content not just for smaller players, but for the players who have reached the end to keep them entertained.

Should you not wish to take part in The Rift Ranking that is your choice as a player to make.
