    Scar 4 - Debuff

    Ahoy Pirates!

We understand the effect users of third-party programs are having on both the game and your player experience.

It is for that reason, we have been improving both our detection methods and enhancing the punishments these users will face.

All of the following shall be implemented on Monday 19th February.

When a player is caught using the third-party program, or when we deem it necessary following the exploitation of some in-game issues, we shall issue a “Botter Caught!” debuff, a “Scar” debuff and remove 33% of a players Experience Points, Elite Points, and Battlepoints.

While a player has either the “Botter Caught!” debuff or a “Scar” debuff, they will provide any player who has neither of these with 2x Battlepoints when sunk.

Are there any permanent punishments for caught users?

For every time a player gains a “Scar”, 5% of their total Pirate Rank Points will be reduced. As an example, if a player is caught 6 times, they will have 6 Scars and therefore their total Pirate Rank points will be reduced by 30% permanently.

How does the Bot Scars work?

Every time a player is caught botting they receive 1 Scar.

The amount of Scars that user has then determines which Bot Scar Debuff they receive:
    • 1 Scar = Bot Scar I
    • 2 Scars = Bot Scar II
    • 3 Scars = Bot Scar III
    • 4 or more Scars = Bot Scar IV
What is Final Damage applied in Bot Scar IV?

Final Damage is a new attribute which is used to lower the final damage a player by a set amount, this takes place after any other calculation.

What currencies are reduced by the “Scar” debuffs?

Any Pearls, Crowns, Yulong Coins, Safanad Coins and Orichalkum gained will be reduced by the value stated.

As an example, if a normal player was to gain 1,000 Orichalkum, a player with the Bot Scar IV debuff would have this reduced by 40%, so would therefore only gain 600 Orichalkum.

    Are there any other punishments?

Yes! When a User reaches Bot Scar IV, they will also receive 1 Month of another debuff – Aggressive NPCs.

Any Defensive or Provocable NPCs will become Aggressive towards a user with this buff, and will prioritise shooting them before any other player.

This will be applied to the user every time they are caught thereafter.

During Events, any players who have any of these Bot Debuffs active may also find themselves unable to gain any rewards.

How can I tell what type of Bot Debuff a player has?

To the right side of their Ship, a player will have an icon, with the Bot Debuff image displayed. The colour of this is different depending on the Bot Debuff the player has.

What happens if a player has a Bot Scar and then gets caught again?

In this scenario, both the old Bot Scar and the next level of the Bot Scar remain active until both durations have expired, and the effects of both Bot Scar debuffs are applied.

What happens if a player has the final level of Bot Scar and is caught again?

The duration will be reset to the Bot Scars initial duration.
