Should i of recieved any rewards?

Just spent most of the night trying to do something for fun to see if i could do it. I was solo shootng the bloodtooth npc for several hours just now, got it down to only 1.8 mil hp remaining. Then as luck would have it a fellow "friendly" pirate came by and sank me, then he finished off the remaining hp on the bloodtooth. I how ever did not recieve a sinlge reward for the 98.2 mil hp i damaged on the event ship.... bad day, but even worse if i really dont get any rewards for the 99% work i did. Is this how its supposed to work or was there a glitch that caused no rewards to come my way for the work done on the event ship?

If you were not on the water when this npc was sunk you will get no reward for this, no matter whether you did the 99% of damage.

This is standard and across all npcs, to receive any reward you must be back on the water.

 

well thats depressing..... also ive asked around and it it appears the event npc's repair so fast that its possible it repaired fully by the time i stopped getting sunk on the map. wonder if it may be a beneficial idea for all players if that whole no reward thing if sunk was changed and maybe the rep speed of the event npc's was a little slower... 98mil hp repaired in less then 10 min seems rather quick, as well as 500k event ammo for no reward bc i was sunk seems awfully expensive and a waste. But thanks for the reply seren... can close thread.
