The Cauldron of Aruba bug was fixed pretty quickly yesterday. However, we are aware that many players were able to gain a lot of Bonus Maps before it was fixed and we are still undecided on what to do with the excess bonus maps gained. At the moment we won’t do anything whilst we investigate the “damage” done by checking the statistics of how many maps these players now have. However, we do not see this as an exploit as it was clearly stated in the game that the chance of getting a map piece was “52%” – therefore, it was our error and not a case of players exploiting.

    Remember back in June?

    Ahoy Pirates,

Please take note, We are aware of the exploits with the quests where players are able to gain pearls multiple times. This will shortly be fixed and ALL players who have taken advantage of this will have their pearls removed and will be suspended.

If they had completed the quest regularly everything would have been fine. Quest done, reward recieved, quest can not be activated again. The difference is that for the quest exploit players hat to go through a specific motion of pressing buttons in the correct order to repeat the quest over and over again.

In the recent cauldron bug, players used the cauldron as intended. They used mojo/pearls, the pearls/mojo was subtracted from the ship and the reward was payed. That the payout of the reward was faulty was not the players fault (insane percentage of puzzle pieces). They didn't use any tricks or went through a specific motion of pressing buttons to get an advantage like not having mojo and/or pearls getting substracted from their ship.

In my humble opinion the "cauldrongate" is not the real problem. The real problem is that some can get an insane amount of mojo/ pearls by using not bp-approved tools - and bp seems to be okay with players being on the water 24/7 just collecting shines.

PS: I write this despite the fact that neither did I use the quest exploit nor did I get anything out of the latest cauldron hickup.
