Soccer Ball Wake

Why are there soccer balls in the wake of my Bonfire ?

This is a part of the recent patch that added styles back in to skins that used to have styles in the old flash version. You can read more on the Patchday notes.

 

I don't think the Bonfire skin was ever part of the soccer event. I received this skin for last shot on the Freedom npc several years ago. The soccer ball wake wasn't one of it's attributes. Can I turn it off?

there is no option to disable ship effects, we will forward your feedback onto the developers.

If you mean that when you shoot something your cannonballs look like footballs, this can be turned off by enabling the boost option in settings.

If you mean that when you sail about there is footballs behind your ship, this is ship trails and can be turned off by going into graphic settings and disabling ship trails.

Either way, the bonfire design should have neither so if you are using the bonfire design and see footballs, that is indeed a visual glitch.

Thank you ~turnip~. Yes it is footballs behind my ship, and ship trails are disabled. This is something that just started. It did start after the patch day that Rymar mentioned though.

 

Ahoy,

I have investigated this and it does appear to be a bug, the Bonfire should not have soccer balls as a special effects trail. I have reported the issue.
