Starter Kits for "New Players".

This is a travesty! I went to my baby boat account just now and checked these out. Holy cow...I don't have this many Level-4 Overlords on my big boat! No wonder the noobs can fight better than expected! I can see offering new players "decent" cannons and "decent" reinforced ribs, etc., but not these high-level ones! And these packages are two-times buyable!

What about the honest veteran players, or do you folks just "not want" the few of us that are left?

 

Ahoy captain Defiant! now that is shameful on the part of BP, I recall my first starter kit had nothing of that amount of goodies, actually if i recall correctly cptn. phatty went out of his way to try and help me make oodles of gold to try and get the first elite skin (the warship), then wait for a happy hour so i could buy pearls and get all my cannons and elite crew! and that was just the beginning!! Then you had to earn all your elite items and pieces. This new bundle business is so not fair to the true players and its just not cool. new players are given too much for so little time invested, i do not think that new players with deep pockets should be awarded like veterans. thats just my opinion. I totally agree with you cptn defiant.

 

Exactly! And that is how I remember it too. The packs we could buy in the "old days" were lame compared to what a newbie can now buy! (Jeepers - I believe that Level-5 Overlords for PvP are the highest cannon on here right now).

Also, I wonder what the minimum requirements are to have access to buy these new "Starter Packs". I'm sure there are many players that had well-developed ships and have taken a "break". When they came back, I imagine that one major thing they faced was outdated cannons. These packs give them a chance to be competitive really quickly, and in my opinion, that is not fair.

 

my first starter kit was on a disk that was in a german magazine der spiegel, it had the red boat skin, but then BP changed it automatically and it became the white and red skin or computer design. No cannons or elite items, but i got a free boat that now cost 20 BP points.

 

Good point! I remember a 3-ship design Bonus CD that a player could buy for money. Now they just give the skins away!
