    Hi,

I am thinking of doing something about my speed however I am stuck between Sternpost and Legba wind skill. Can someone who might have tested this help?

I mean does full Sternpost give you the same speed as Legba Wind At Your Back Skill lvl5? or there is a significant difference between the two or one of them is better etc...?

    Thanks :)

Go to the Seafight Forum (the link to the Forum is at bottom right of your Homepage) and click on "Official Announcements" and then click on "AMS Phase 1". Go to Seren's third posting and examine the Chart on "Speed" and the various factors (and their weights) as they now relate to the game. I know this is not the specific answer you are looking for, but hopefully this may help a bit.

Hiya, thanks for the help :) I' ve just checked it and it shows 80 for Sternpost and 65 for Legba... However, I don't know what those numbers mean. If thats the extra speed given to the ship then does that mean that Sternpost has an edge over Legba wind skill????

    Hi Victory,

I'll try and explain this ( tho I'd admit it may still be as clear as mud when I have)

In the diagram you see (at the bottom)

Elite ship - 385.. this gives 385 "speed points" if you wish to still call them that.
Level 5 sails add a further 159, until the ship becomes 1 third damaged, this then drops to 0
Ships pilot remains at 40 regardless of damage taken

    Etc....

So Wind at your back gives a constant 65 points regardless of damage while rowers only kick in after 33% damage is sustained.
    The above are skills

While sternpost is a castle and gives 80 regardless of damage taken, you can have both active.

    Does this help?

And a message for static to consider if you read this again - https://board-en.seafight.com/threads/join-the-seafight-team.10855/ for your consideration :)

    Hi Shiver,

    Thanks for the help :)
So; according to these explanations, can we say for example; a ship that has only full Sternpost (lvl6) for speed buff will be faster than a ship that has only full Wind At Your Back (lvl5) skill for speed buff ?

Thanks for the offer Shiver i may aswell give it a try :)

Vic, depends who went first & who has the better sails.. 15 speed isnt much difference but the castle guy should win in perfect conditions.

lastly sorry for Hijacking Shiver, i also understand the Dev team are busy. But could you request they change the display in castles? It says 12 speed for stern & is extremely confusing
    thanks :)
