The Coup de Grace - from 15th May until 29th May, 2014

The Coup de Grace features the following:

    • Cooperation and Competition
    • Three new ship designs
    • Two new pets
    • New Shell Shock Ammo!
What are the start and end dates of the event?

The event will start at 12 noon (local server time) on 15th May and end at 12 noon on the 29th May (local server time). The Black Market will be open until 12 noon (LST) on 31st May.

What Event NPCs will I find on the Sea Chart?

During the Coup de Grace event you will find two new NPCs sailing around all PvP maps on the Seafight seas – the Turtle Raider and the annoying Snapjaw! Turtle Raider must be shot with pearl ammo whilst Snapjaw can be shot with gold ammo.

What rewards can I get from the Event NPCs?

From the Turtle Raider you will get Experience Points, Pearls and Radiant Souls. From Snapjaw you will get some Experience Points, Cursed Souls and a chance of some Shell Shock Ammo. Both NPCs give rewards depending on the amount of damage you do against them.

What does the Shell Shock Ammo do?

The Shell Shock Ammo will cause much more damage against the Event NPCs as well as Cassiopeia. In addition, this ammo will cause much more damage against Guild Towers – this extra damage will also occur after the event is over when using this ammo!

What else will I find on the Sea Chart?

During the Coup de Grace event you will find the huge Cassiopeia Turtle! You will need to work together with the other members of your server to shoot at Cassiopeia and cause as much damage against it as possible. Although you won’t be able to kill Cassiopeia, the more damage you make against it, the more benefits you will gain!

Your task as a server is to cause more damage than you did the day before (the “day” runs from 12 noon to 12 noon, local server time). For the first day, we have set the target at 3,000,000,000 Hit Points. If your server surpasses this amount, you and everyone on your server will be granted Cassiopeia’s Might starting at 12 noon and lasting until 12 noon the following day. If you don’t reach your daily target, you will not get the Cassiopeia’s Might buff and will have to wait until the following day to try to reach your target score again. Each day, your target is set depending on how well you did the day before but the minimum requirement is 3,000,000,000 Hit Points!

There will be 4 Cassiopeia’s which are located on the following maps; 5/3, 8/2, 11/2 and 16/1. All the points made against the 4 Cassiopeia’s are added together to make the daily target so it doesn’t matter which of the 4 you shoot at.

If your server manages to beat your target for the day, you will notice an Icon in the top left corner of the screen during the next 24 hour period (from 12 noon to 12 noon).

What benefits will I get with Cassiopeia’s Might?

If your server manages to reach the daily target, you will be granted Cassiopeia’s Might. When your server has the Cassiopeia’s Might active, double as many Turtle Raiders will spawn and half as many of the annoying Snapjaws will spawn! In addition, the Dragon Turtle Egg Nests (read more about them below) will have less Hit Points making them easier to destroy.

Why should I bother shooting Cassiopeia?

Other than to cooperate with your fellow Pirates on your server to get the Cassiopeia’s Might, there will be a daily ranking for damage caused against Cassiopeia with the following prizes:

    • 1st place: 2x Libra Bonus Maps & 10,000,000 Elite Points
    • 2nd – 5th place: Aquarius Bonus Map & 5,000,000 Elite Points
    • 6th – 10th place: Taurus Bonus Map & 500,000 Elite Points
    • 11th – 100th place: 5,000 Shell Shock Ammo, 250,000 Elite Points, 250,000 Experience Points, 200 Black Powder & 200 Hailstorm
    • 101st – 200th place: 10,000 Shell Shock Ammo, 50,000 Elite Points, 50,000 Experience Points, 100 Black Powder & 100 Hailstorm
    • 201st – 300th place: 15,000 Shell Shock Ammo, 5,000 Elite Points, 5,000 Experience Points & 50 Black Powder.

    Cassiopeia.

You can use ALL ammo against Cassiopeia but of course, if you use the Shell Shock Ammo you will cause more damage and have more chance of getting higher in the rankings.

Cassiopeia has a defense system which reduces the amount of damage caused against him by 50% - this is the same for all ammo types and all players.

Note : You do NOT get anything from shooting the Cassiopeia other than from the daily ranking rewards IF you finish in the top 300!

There is no requirement to shoot the big turtle whatsoever so it’s up to you if you want to shoot against it or not.

What rewards can I get from the main Event Ranking?

Points can be obtained by making the last shot against either the Turtle Raider or Snapjaw or by destroying an Egg Nest or by completing the repeated Quest. At the end of the event the top player on each server will get a Libra Bonus Map as well as the mighty Catapult design (see more below). The next 4 players on each server will get an Aquarius Map and 5 randomly chosen players per server (who made it into the top 100 in the ranking) will get a Taurus Bonus Map.

What do the Event Treasure Chests contain?

The Event Treasure Chests contain various items including Shell Shock Ammo, Asklepios Talent and Crystals. Upon opening an Event Chest, you are also guaranteed to get one Radiant Soul.

What do the Egg Nests contain?

During the event you will also see Dragonturtle Egg Nests which must be shot with harpoons. Items such as Shell Shock Ammo, Crystals, and Cannons can be obtained from these Nests, if you make the last shot!

The Dragonturtle Egg Nests have a tagging mechanic which means that once you make a shot against one of them they will be tagged to you meaning that if an enemy pirate tries to steal it from you, you will get the rewards anyway.

If you leave the Dragonturtle Egg Nests "unattacked" there will be a short time (a few minutes) before the Dragonturtle Egg Nests will once again become untagged and fair-game for all other pirates! If a Dragonturtle Egg Nests has been tagged its “name” will turn red so you know not to bother shooting it. If you tag a Dragonturtle Egg Nests and try to shoot something else, the initial tagging of the first Dragonturtle Egg Nests will be deactivated.

What else will happen during the event?

During the event there will be 6 special Quests for you to complete and each completed quest will be rewarded. The quest givers can be located on various maps for you to find!

Players can do all quests once in total, except the last quest which can be repeated once per hour.

What can I do with all the Souls I’ve collected?

Cursed and Radiant Souls can be used to purchase items in the Black Market! These items include the new Ship Designs and new Pets (which will be available from 24th May, 12 noon local server time). Other items available in the Black Market during the event include the Snake Keys and Shell Shock Ammo. Buff items including the Polished Muzzles and Barricaded Top Deck will also be available.

What stats will the new ship designs have?

The Scorpio design has a bonus damage of 10%, 35,000 Bonus Hit Points and 20,000 Bonus Voodoo Points no matter what Elite Level you are.

The powerful Ballista ship has the following stats:

Elite level 0-22: Bonus Damage: 13%, Bonus Hit Points: 65,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 35,000.
Elite level 23-24: Bonus Damage: 14%, Bonus Hit Points: 71,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 37,500.
Elite level 25-26: Bonus Damage: 15%, Bonus Hit Points: 77,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 40,000.
Elite level 27: Bonus Damage: 16%, Bonus Hit Points: 83,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 42,500.
The mighty Catapult design which can only won by being 1st in the main Event Ranking at the end of the event, has the following stats:

Elite level 0-22: Bonus Damage: 14%, Bonus Hit Points: 65,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 35,000.
Elite level 23-24: Bonus Damage: 15%, Bonus Hit Points: 71,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 37,500.
Elite level 25-26: Bonus Damage: 16%, Bonus Hit Points: 77,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 40,000.
Elite level 27: Bonus Damage: 17%, Bonus Hit Points: 83,000, Bonus Voodoo Points: 42,500.
All the ship design also have a 10% bonus on harpoon damage, no matter what your elite level is.

What stats will the new pets have?

The Tibbok pet has a 25,000 Hit Point buff and reduces your chance of getting hit by 5%. The stunning Tubbok pet has a 25,000 Hit Point buff and reduces your chance of getting hit by 15%!

What happens with my Souls and event keys at the end of the event?

The Cursed and Radiant Souls will be exchanged for in-game items at the end of the event. Specific details will be revealed nearer the end of the event. The Snake Keys will also be replaced by normal chest keys at a ratio of 1:1.

To recap - if the players reach the daily target (from 12 noon to 12 noon), it will activate Cassiopeia’s Might for the next 24 hour period (from 12 noon to 12 noon the following day).

So, in other words, if you all reach the target before 12 noon tomorrow the Cassiopeia Might will be activated at 12 noon tomorrow. If you don’t reach the target by 12 noon tomorrow, then the Cassiopeia’s Might won’t be activated.
